Damn, just found out that AZEX is letting his SOT expire.

Sucks if you like NFA toys from a local dude.

How would I go about doing that? If it's shat the bed it's definitely under warranty.

This is a Prerunner / 6 lug 4x2 (3rd gen's don't have "prerunners" anymore, but you can't buy 5 lug ones) by the way.

I'm gonna go drive the same loop I drove to test the carrier bearing drop again to see if the same areas produce the same vibes. There's an errand I have to make out that way anyways.

Jack up the side you want to test and try to rock the wheel. Top and bottom, side to side. If it has play without you having to force it the bearing is probably shot

Do you have a lift? according to symptoms I would bet it's the road.

    Edit: Pre-runner

Definitely not a needle bearing, because prerunner.

I just drove that same route and the vibration happened at the same spots, but felt a little different in as much as it wasn't through the steering wheel as much, this time just generally through the whole truck... not sure what that means.

Aha! So it is the road surface but the way it manifests itself is bonkers. I don't know if this is indicative or a problem or what?

On my way back I was in one of the "vibration zones" on the 101 and someone decided to jersey slide* and everyone got on the brakes. Once I was down to a hair under 55, I noticed the vibration was in my seat- at 60ish it changed to the pedals, and at 65 it went back to the steering wheel. It was dictated by the road surface but how fast I was going changed where the vibration was.

    Still though, WTF is that!?!?!

    * maybe a term that's less known out here? In PA when someone swerves from the far left lane to get onto a right exit ramp we called it the "Jersey slide" b/c it was often New Jersey drivers pulling that.

I hate the Jersey Slide. Interesting name for it.

That's weird how the vibration differs in speed.

I'm having issues with my truck too. Shop suggested it may have been my tires because they have deeper tread...

Waiting on parts for pinion bearing. Might get done tomorrow, if not, I'll go get my truck and bring it back on Monday.

I'm just all meh when it comes to my truck today.

My loop was Thomas to Talking stick and back. Intermittent spots on there that look smooth but apparently are just ever so slightly washboarded.

    Tell me about it.

I drive that stretch m-f. Don't notice the vibration, but I do notice that road is wavy. they did a horrible job on laying down the concrete and asphalt. I had one of the brakes come on from vsc feature a few weeks back. My shocks are shot and I need to replace them, but that stretch on the 101 is horrible. I need to reset the vsc since I got the lift installed. It was scary as fuck going down the freeway doing 70 and all of a sudden that came on.
