follow this to reset the maintenance light after you change your oil......

for the 30k service...........if you have the tools, do it yourself and save money. the dealer wants too much for it, and its mostly checking stuff. you need to change the plugs if you have the v6, change the diff oil(real easy), then check the air filter, rotate tires and adj. air in them, and the rest is basic visual checking of things, topping off fluids, etc.

FYI, the maintenance light is strictly a mileage counter.

I have a question about that, that light on my 05 came on last year, when I took it to the dealer I found out I had cracked the gas cap, something to do with a pressure seal? they of course replace it at no charge.
Never had any issues since that.

Was looking for an answer and this was close, so I'll just use this thread instead of starting a new one...

My 30k mile maint. is coming up. I plan to change the oil, spark plugs, clean the AFE filter in the engine and replace the cabin air filter all myself. I have a lifetime rotate and balance at the Goodyear place by my house, too.

Other than what's noted above and the inspections, the manual also suggests replacing the LSD oil (if equipped). I have the rear locker, not the LSD. There's no need for me to change any fluid, right?

Also, how much do you think the dealership will charge me to "re-torque the propeller shaft bolt"? Is it necessary? Can I do it myself?

    Thanks!

the rear locker diff needs the fluid changed also at 30k. just go with some mobil1 75w90.......3 quarts will do it.....good stuff. as far as retorquing the prop shaft...............i seriously doubt that any "tech" at the dealership would even look at it, even though they are supposed to. just take a wrench under the truck and make sure all the bolts on all parts of the driveshaft are tight and call it a day. thats what i have done on my 06 and now on my 04 also.
