    Hello all,

I'm selling my lift that was on my 2017 Tacoma. The issue I had with it was I ordered the wrong front spring coils, 888's specifically (medium load). These are made for an ARB bumper or winch. My intention was to put a slimline bumper from Southern Style Offroad on the front eventually so I tried to cut corners and order the Medium Load springs. The 887 coil springs which are made for stock weight front ends can be purchased online. I'm not able to afford the bumper at this time and I had drivetrain vibration that I wasn't comfortable with due to an inch or so increase in ride height.

The lift was only on the truck for 15 miles. Some scratches are present on the OME rear shocks from when the shop reinstalled the factory lift. Including pics of the shocks and will include a pic how it looked installed on the truck. Any questions please feel free to ask.

    Parts list:

    Item ID: OME-TAK-90000-888-ASB

    OldManEmu 2016+ Tacoma Suspension lift

    Front Shocks: 9000 (firmer valving)

Front Coils: 888 Coils for winch or bumper

    Dakar leaf spring pack

Front shocks/coils do have new bushings

Purchased kit through ToyTec Lifts. I paid (including shipping) $1,384.79.
Asking $1,000 for the kit. The 887 springs can be purchased through ToyTec for $169.99.

Just a little side note, 886s are meant for bumpers and winches. The 887s are shorter and the 888s are a little longer but have the same spring rate. The 886s have a heavier spring rate for steel bumpers and winches! The 888 Coils measure it at 405mm with a spring rate of 590 which is the same as the 887s.

Got this straight off the @HeadStrong Off-Road site!

The lift was a little taller than I was expecting as well, so that's another reason I'd like to sell it. Hard to judge from pictures without people standing next to them in a majority of the pics. I think I'd be better suited with the stock lift and 265/75r16 tires.

I have 888s and dakars on my truck with 265 75 16s and trust me over time it will settle!

Did you have the differential drop? It helps a lot with any vibrations

Already have the factory lift back on the truck. Not going to pay the shop to reinstall the lift again lol.
Nah only thing I did extra was the ECGS install. It really was higher than I was looking for. I'm not a tall dude so I think 265s would be better suited for me on the stock lift.

Yeah it only has 15 miles on the kit. I figure $1000 is pretty reasonable price for a new kit.

Where in Mississippi are you located? I'm in Southeastern Louisiana and possibly interested in buying. Need to speak to the wife about it first.

Did you still have vibrations with the ecgs you had installled? I thought that was a guarantee fix for the vibrations?

Only because the spring rate for the 888 coils raised the lift up 1/2" higher than the 887 coils would have, which are made for the stock bumper. That's the reason I put the price of the lift down to $1000 incase someone didn't want to add a steel bumper at all, they could purchase the 887 coils and still be under the cost of a new kit by a couple hundred bucks along with having both 887's and 888's.

I could have easily had the shop buy the 887 coils or put the stock coils on with a 2" spacer as a temporary fix till the 887's came in or just left the 888's on and had them install a diff drop kit for $40. Overall the truck was just a little higher than I was expecting. I will be doing a lot of traveling back and forth from Mississippi to Florida for dive trips and being a short dude, it'd just be easier for me to have it stock for loading/unloading purposes.

There have also been reports on here of even people not lifting their 3rd gen Tacomas at all and the stock needle bearing started causing them vibration issues as well. Overall I'm glad I had the shop install the ECGS bushing just for ease of mind sake. Truck rides smooth as ever. I'd recommend even stock trucks do it as well because it could save in the long run.

Thanks for the info. I was and kinda still am confused at the ecgs install. I was planning on a 2 in lift and want to avoid any vibrations. I was going to have the ecgs bearing put on at the same time to avoid any issues. So, i guess my question is did you have the ecgs replaced at the same time of your lift? 1/2 in coil lift (887/888) made that much of a differnce even with the ecgs and still caused vibrations? I may have to rethink lifting if thats the case. Little things like that bother the crap out of me. Sorry if i'm derailing your thread. It just made me curious. Again, thanks for the good info.

By the way, your truck looked great on that lift!

All good no worries, don't mind sharing my experiences. As I had discussed with the off-road shop before when the lift was still on. They said a differential drop kit could be installed for $40 if I didn't want the 887 coils and that would correct the angle for the extra 1/2" the 888 coils raised it up over the 887 coils and that would return the angle of the drive shaft back to stock angles.

Obviously that would have been the cheaper route to go but the lift was just higher than I was expecting which is the reason I'm selling the kit.
