Here's the problem. I don't believe there was anything wrong with your transmission to start with other then normal break-in would warrant. Since you opened a can of worms and had them try to fix it, they made it worse. I'm not sure anything they do will make you happy so off to arbitration you go.
I'd recommend you purchase an automatic on your next vehicle.

My 6MT TRD Sport had an over tightened clutch pressure plate and started preventing the clutch from disengaging from the fly wheel completely. I was hearing bearing sounds when pressing the clutch pedal. Got a new clutch, fly wheel, pressure plate and Throw-out bearing. Took 3 days to fix.

Yes everything feels and sounds good now. I think my shifting feels easier and smoother now as well.

You could go to some independent transmission shops to see what they think of the transmission issue you have then have them document it. But don't know if that would help.

I was thinking the same thing. Have someone else look at this. I can't understand how this had such an extensive service by the dealer, came out worse,
and now they won't help you? This doesn't make sense.

Trying to see through the dealers eyes here but it might seem they feel whatever they do won't be enough because they believe the customer has lost faith in the truck?

That really doesn't matter with respect to a real issue. The dealer is obligated to repair or replace under the terms of the warranty until it's fixed - not try once and say "he's never going to be happy" and write him off.

So he either has an issue, and Toyota should fix it, or he doesn't, and he is confused about how a manual transmission works. Either way an independent shop could shed some light on this.

Sounds like your clutch isn't disengaging properly, making those shifts hard because the tranny is still under partial load.

I don't think so. The clutch grabs nicely about 1/2+ travel from floor. Also I have bled the clutch to make sure there is no air in it (there wasn't). The binding of 1st-2nd gear when cold in the morning is improving. However it is also a lot warmer out in the mornings now than early April.

The issues still exist till this day.
    • Low idle ~500 at random, truck shakes (original issue)
    • Transmission rattle in neutral when clutch is out (original issue)
    • RPM gauge ticking down backwards like a clock (after dealer issue)
    • Very hard to put it into 1st and 2nd gear when transmission is cold first thing int he morning (after dealer issue)
    • Very notchy 3rd-4th gear when transmission is hot, it will not go in 3rd and 4th gear at least once a day merging onto highway. The shifter stops half way engaging the gear like it hits a metal stop. The RPMs have to drop to idle in order to complete the shift. (after dealer issue)
Before you guys attack me again about my manual driving skills, I have been driving stick for almost 20 years straight now. I have been riding and working on motorcycles for 10+ years. I only buy manual car/trucks. I have installed clutches, engines, transmissions, etc. I do all my own maintenance. These are legit problems, and on top of that Toyota has treated me like a insignificant dumb customer. I am not even going to get into how my truck was covered in gear oil when I got it back.

I would recommend you visit an independent transmission shop and have them test drive and ask for their opinion. Also, if you read my previous posts, my 6-speed TRD Sport developed a problem at 1000 miles in which it started making a subtle bearing type sound. It was the clutch not disengaging properly because the pressure plate was bolted too tight. And I remember since the day I got it and until I got the clutch replaced some of my shifts felt slightly raspy but now all my shifts are buttery buttery smooth.

Also my TRD Sport sort of makes a rattling sound at idle in neutral if I stick my head under the truck. Can't hear anything while inside though, windows up or down.

A visit to an independent transmission shop is a good idea, if you decide to go into Arbitration that info can only help.

Maybe offer to let a tech drive it for a day or two, find one that has a longer drive home so they can have an opportunity to experience the issues.

He can also visit a dealer that has 2.7 5 speed on the lot and have a tech ride with him in both trucks to compare and prove that his issues are not normal. That's what I did myself for my truck.

Toyota corp. gave you 2 great alternatives, replace it with another truck or buy back the original, if those options still exist for you I would jump on them quickly. also you should have immediately notified the service manager of the gear oil inside the truck and try to get reimbursed for a professional cleaning the smell in the seats fabric will probably never go away without a pro cleaning. also in your video you mentioned the Dealers name which is a good thing I think.

There is really no point at this time, because I didn't take pics before I cleaned it. It got the best of me that day and I just cleaned it off without thinking. There are some faint stains on my passenger seat that never got out completely. Everything else was cleaned.
