Any suggestions on how to fix/paint these?

So I bought these fogs middle of last summer. The outer frames recently started peeling and look bad. The rest of the truck is always clean so the frames of the lights are somewhat of an eye-sore. I got nowhere with the company that produced the lights, so I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on what to do. I am afraid that if I take the frame off to clean them up and paint them, that the lights could be damaged? I wouldn't want to compromise the seal or anything by taking the frames off. Anyone know if that is possible? If you cannot remove the frames, any suggestions on what to use to paint over them?

Wow. My Auxbeam leds lasted better than that!!
    I thought @CaliRaisedLed had a better warranty.o_O

If not.. tape the glass and spray the face.
You won't have the shiny screw heads but better than they are now.

I'd tape and spray. The black screws look better anyway as mentioned above

Hi. My Rigid fogs look the same. I might try plastidip? At least it can be pealed off if it looks like crap! Cheers

My Cali Raised pods did the same thing. I opened up my light bar (not Cali Raised) cause it had condensation. While I had it opened I painted all chrome except inside the cones black & then sealed it with clear RTV silicone, have had a problem since.

Lots of hwy driving to the ski hill! They use gravel not sand on the roads!!!! Yeah, seems strange that the finish is coming off as the front of the truck looks great. Oh well, they still light up the road well. Cheers

If you take the lens off you just need some silicone to run a bead when you go to seal them back up. Very easy to do! Just be careful to keep the lens clean and not drop it.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
If you go the tape and spray route, you're going to need to sand those down first. The aluminum has oxidized. You can also go the anodized route. It'll cost more, and you could possibly color match or get close to one depending on the anodizer.

Ya that is my main concern. I feel like they need to come off to do the job correctly (to be sanded properly and prepped for paint). I would hate to mess something up on the integrity of the light itself, to do that. So I'm debating doing a Band-Aid fix without taking the frames off, so that the lights remain working properly without risk, vs taking the frames off etc. Tough call.

Which ever route you decide to go, finish it off with a heavy-duty clear coat of some kind. PA winters suck for metal

That's pretty sucky of the company to not do anything. It wouldn't cost them diddly to ship out replacement front frames. The way it stands, it's poor advertising for the company, with their name on it and all corroded up, and no advertising for the company after they're repainted. I would let the company know you are going to post those pics on facebook, twitter, and all the offroad forums.

If you still are stuck with repainting them, I would take them apart and glass bead blast them first.

On a side note, how is the light output and do you run them on while driving? Been thinking of getting some but don't wanna dish out $300 for Rigids

I sent these pictures to them and told them that they were like 8 months old. He basically said 'not covered, I'd suggest painting them.'. I replied asking if I did do that, can I take the frames off w/o damaging the lights (or worrying about leaks etc). And if so, could I just get a new set of frames?'....No reply. So whatever. I'm not here to bash the guy, I just won't buy from them or recommend them again, which I was doing, before all of this. Search my posts for proof. They are cool lights, I use them often, because I drive a lot. It is what it is, I just hate how they look because the rest of my truck is very clean. The lights work great, but I feel like 1 winter of driving on a truck that gets driven but washed regularly, should not look like that. But maybe I'm wrong. Next time I'll just try Rigids or something. No biggie.

If you can take them apart, which you can because if a human built it then another human can disassemble it, then sand down the existing finish and see if a local powder coating place can do it for cheap. They look small enough that it shouldn't cost you much to get a rock hard finish on them. This will give you a chance to clean up the internals and put on a better weather seal.
