Your dealer offered to wash your truck? My dealer needs to step up their game. I've never once been asked if I wanted my truck washed.

Looks good, Zach! Installing mine today. Do you do this yourself? Seems like the only difficult thing that you might need a hand with would be simply lifting it into place for mounting. I was planning on doing it myself with the help of a floor jack, but I haven't even unboxed it to see if this is possible. Another question, did your trailer plug reach your new bumper or are you 1/2" short like others have mentioned?

Be grateful! Unless you don't care at all about your paint, never let them wash your truck. They use a brush and do not change their water nearly enough. Might as well hit it with some 600 grit sand paper.

Happy to hear you're enjoying the lights! The Sports are a great improvement over the factory fogs and I'm sure your Son would love them. Be careful if running the Pros on the street, you'll most likely be blinding everyone around.

Oh hey, fancy meeting you here. Haha.
Tolerable. Not bad, but noticeable. 35MPH wind chime sound and same at 65MPH. If I go to 5MPH over that, the sound goes away.

I thought the description said 3000 lumens, until I turned it on for the first time and checked the website again. 30,000 lumens. hahahaha.

The fab 4 bumper was a fairly quick install your gonna definitely want an extra set of hands to align it and bolt it up. I was fortunate enough to not have to extend the wiring for the trailer plug-good luck!

Copy and pasted from my build thread for those on the fence about a gear swap.

Little gear update: I came to work early today so I had a wide open freeway, thus giving me an opportunity to play a little with the truck. Truck accelerates so much better, holds speed with ease and maintains gear now without issue. Cruising at 80mph I was at about 2100 rpm and in 6th gear (which I haven't really seen since I got my 34's, unless I was going downhill with a tail wind, but only on the 2nd Tuesday of the month during a leap year). Around town, truck is so much peppier off the line and throughout the rpm band. 0-60 has definitely improved, not that this is a race truck or anywhere close, but overall drivability is a VAST improvement. Another thing to note is that the rear end is quite a bit more quiet now. The REM polishing greatly reduced if not all together eliminated the break in period, except for initial heat cycles of which SDHQ did before they let me pick up the truck.

I will be keeping a close eye on things in the next few weeks, monitoring fuel consumption, rpm's and gear changes to get a really good idea and compare with notes I took prior to the gear change, but thus far, it's a different and much improved truck.

To be totally honest, I was a tiny bit worried about the 4.88's, partially because there isn't a whole lot of 3rd gens running them, especially with a 34 inch tire, so aside from some math, estimations and wishful thinking, I didn't have a ton of data to go off of. I do however trust the advice I get from SDHQ and am fully confident that they wouldn't steer me in the wrong direction. So that really gave me the confidence I needed to move forward with this upgrade.

Once I have all of the data, I will likely create a separate thread so that others can make an informed decision. In the meantime, Always happy to help with any questions so feel free to fire away.

I got a great deal on mine as part of a data acquisition project but I'd rather not discuss the exact dollar amount on a public forum. That said, retail should be in the 3k ballpark, give or take for a 4wd truck.

Install took a week, which included the break in. Normally wouldn't take that long, however they kind of snuck me in between projects since I was going to be out of town and the timing worked better for me that way. One of those days included running it through the heat cycles.

So update from my post a good few pages back. I brought in my '17 Taco for the 5k and an oil change and mentioned to them that the driver's side speakers seemed to be really quiet compared to the passenger side. When sitting in the driver's side seat with music playing, the passenger side always sounded louder; like the sound was basically only coming from that side. Well they checked it out and the techs noticed it as well. They ordered me two new speakers, one for the door and one for the dash for the driver's side and those came in Tuesday of this week. Well it is Friday now and my truck is STILL at the dealership. Apparently replacing the speakers didn't fix the issue. They thought it may be an amp problem but I do not know if they swapped that out on mine. They said they needed to compare it to another Tacoma on the lot with the JBL system. They're having a Toyota engineer come out some time soon (Not sure when) to check it out. I think it may be a wiring issue but I'm not sure. I have a road trip with the wife coming up later this month and I would REALLY like it if my truck had functioning speakers on it...
