After Almost a year how are the LED lights holding up? Would you do anything different? Have you had any issues or replacements?

 

I tried to replace taillight bulb but was not successful in removing taillight assembly. I removed 2 bolts the 2nd from the top and the bottom one but taillight wont come off. Anybody experienced the same? What is the best way to remove the tailights? Please advise, thanks in advance.

 

There's three bolts that have to be removed, second from top and bottom two, then a forceful tug.

 

I Think it's just one bolt on the bottom.

There are two metal spikes on then outer edge of the tail, one top and one on the bottom. These two pop in. So it's going to take some force to get the originals out. You just have to pull it straight out

Nope, there are only two. Just one on the bottom, you can tell which one by loosening and you will feel the light come loose.

But then you need to pull a fair amount as the left side is attached with some pop in things.

 

Just did the tail lights yesterday, Two screws in tail gate then everyone says light should come out with forceful pull. What I didn't remember seeing or hearing is there are two tabs behind the light holding it in. They are in the middle one on top and one on bottom of the light

 

Just ordered mine. Should be here later this week.

 

Any advice for changing the license plate lights? Struggling. I understand they turn and have removed one but am struggling with the other. My hands won't fit!

 

Installed these Auxbeam F16s in the lows and fogs; built in Canbus; no errors. Overall way better than stock halogen bulbs. Pretty nice for $46/pair.

 

I was able to change mine yesterday. I lay down under on each side to get a better view and try different approach. On the passenger side, I was able to use both hands. Other members suggest, removing the case by using screwdriver and reach for the tabs on each side under, then push out the case. If it still doesn't work, find a smaller hand to help you.

 

I was able to do passenger side with both hands also. I scratched all the skin off but i did it. drivers side has a few more cables in the way.

 

This is a prime example of an incorrect lighting upgrade. While your OEM projectors manage the LED headlight source by maintaining hard cutoffs, the halogen fog reflectors have no such recourse and emit glare everywhere blinding other drivers and actually reducing your visibility in poor weather conditions. This is what is captured in this photo.

Ive ordered and installed all of OP's recommended bulbs except Im still waiting on the high beams. Im getting the hyper flash on my turn signals. any recommendations?

Also realized the low beams OP linked to on Amazon say

• Used for Fog lights or DRL only. No high or low beam function.

Any Low beam links?

 

Look to Morimoto fogs from The Retrofit Source for drop in replacement LED fogs. They replace the entire light housing which is needed to be LED compatible since the fogs are not projectors.

The H11 bulb has no high/low function, as it is a single filiment bulb, it is just low beam/fog. The listing does not explain it well, or they are saying it is insufficient for headlights. I would be skeptical of the light output for safe headlight use. An LED that can output sufficient light for headlights will need cooling, most use bulky fans at the base of the LED and better units will use passive heat sinks of various styles at the base of the LED. Those have neither.

I'm nearly done with my conversion.

So far I've done...

Low Beams: Morimoto 5500K HID from The Retrofit Source. Provide tons more light than the LEDs I tried. I tried the AtShark, OPT7, A generic CREE, and a no-name cree brand. All of which put out the same light, which was much less intense than the 35w HID kit I have.

Fogs: Morimoto XB fogs. Much better than the non-projectors with a brighter bulb. Put out a sharp cutoff and tons of light.

Reverse: 921/T15 ACME from TRS. Great light for such an easy install. I'm going to install more reverse lights to help backing the boat up at night.

License Plate: T10/194 ACME from TRS. Looks much better than the stock halogens that are nearly yellow.

anyone got easy instructions or a video link to do the license plate bulbs... I tried but hard to put it out and change the bulbs... might be doing something wrong...
