I am currently running 265/75-16 tires which will need to be replaced by next winter. I am going to go up in size to 285/75-16 but think they will rub too much with my current lift.

My current lift is Bilstein 5100's set at 0* with OME 885 coils and a 1/4" top plate spacer. With this set-up I got about 2" of lift after the 885's settled. I want to get another .5" - 1" so I can fit the bigger tires w/no rubbing issues.

    So what are my options???

I know everyone says not to adjust the 5100's up when paired with the 885 coils but my 885 coils are the older one's made in 2007 which sag quite a bit.

What are the biggest cons if I were to adjust the 5100 coils up 1 notch?

You might have to get UCA, but I know a few guys that have gone 2.5 " and used the stock UCA fine. I know even with a 3 inch lift, you will still rub, you will have to do some minor trimming.

The ride might be a little bumpier because the springs are getting preloaded.

    just a couple comfort items.
Your stock uca's will be fine with 2.5" of lift. Just find a good old school alignment shop that knows what their doing! not some computer place with a knucklehead watching gauges and turning wrenches. As for that tire size you may still be kissing plastic or metal here and there when you are flexing and turning. For sure you will need to do some trimming and pinch weld adjustment. Lots of guys running those tires here.

if your running stock wheels you will need spacers to clear 285s on the ucas.if not they will rub the stock ones.

I say go big. Trim up your fenders on the inside a bit and you'll be golden. I always get comments on my tires and lift. People always say it looks so nice with the big tires, and i must agree with them. Big tires make peoples underwear wet.

I have aftermarket wheels with 4.5" of backspacing so I should be fine with the stock UCA.

I guess my biggest concern is adjusting my Bilsteins to .85" paired with the 885 coils.
