Between this and your story about the guy that mowed his lawn naked in the banned members thread, you have truly helped me get through a Friday as a Cube Monkey.

I like that photo, it's like a Chinese riddle, how do you get squeeky clean wheels and a filthy truck?
    You didn't answer the question.

Talk about funny sleep walking/drunk as a skunk stories. My uncle told me this story about my cousin when he was in his early 20's. One night my uncle wakes up to hear the water running (his room is right next the kitchen). He pops up (thinking someone left the sink on) opens his door and there is my cousin pissing on the bar stool right next to his bedroom door. My uncle had to slam the door shut to avoid being pissed on. Asked later, my cousin remembers taking a leak but thought he went into the bathroom, lifting the seat and taking a leak

I'd definitely never run anything bigger than a 32 on a Dana 30. Anything bigger than that and it'd be a Dana 44 swap all the way.

That's what I'm thinking of putting under the FJ. Not looking to throw wonton soup under it, just want the extra articulation and durability.

The HP 30s hold up decently to 35s on Jeeps. Hell of a lot stronger than IFS. As evidence by every time I hit the gas with my 33s...

Idk when I did all the pricing and cost to strength the 44 is a step I would skip. The built trail gear Tacoma width front end will end up costing only a bit more than a 44 after hubs/gearing/rebuild kit/hi steering/covers/lockers and brackets. But the TG with longs is stronger, all new (easy to work on) and hub to hub lifetime warranty. Plus better clearance. Your weak link will be hubs so basically plug and play when your break shit. Both yota and 44 you don't wanna go bigger than 37s in NE where we need wheel-speed.

So my assessment is it's TG built yota or D60-14B full retard. Unless you find a perfect built 44 that hasn't been beat to crap for short cash.

Most definitely haven't ruled out a trusty Yota 8" front. That way everything would kinda work just perfectly.

60's seem a little too wide and beefy for what is needed up here. Just seems like overkill.

New guy here from Chelmsford, MA.

I'm probably older than many of you at almost 51 years old. I just bought a 2015 Tacoma. Last Toyota truck I had was back in the early '80s (2 wheel drive long bed).

I've had the truck for a couple of weeks now and I think im going to love it.

Extreme truck mods aren't going to be my thing but bs'ing is up my alley!
I am a gadget guy and hope to contribute a little bit.

Was blocked in at the shop today so I installed the carrier bearing drop kit from OME. It still shudders but not as much on take off, I still get that low rumble/vibration from the truck while just coasting at low speeds 5-15mph but I can't figure out if it's the lack of alignment or the drive train (happens both in 2Hi and 4Hi with or without the cb drop). I'll have to pry further into it when I'm back on my trip and have a pair of control arms to rebuild.
