    Was going to say your wallet won't want it :] Hence I bought one that is my most used style / size blade in the kitchen if it goes well it will likely be 4 years before I have the other 4 that I would use lol one a year :}

    @Chile Verde and @RickS and anyone else that can appreciate a beautiful blade and the steel it is made out of :}
    What sparked my liking / interest in blades was an article in Knives Magazine I believe I bought it because on the front was the headline "Meteor Knife" along with a picture
    MetorKnife.jpg

    Bill Moran was also the guy responsible for bringing Damascus steel back to life .

    Chile do not look at the prices of his knives though he is passed on now they were well north by a another 0 or two and a larger number to the left of the decimal point. :}

    Damn, talk about old school. The art of folding steel has given way to modern processes. Also diggn the craftsmanship of the matching handle and scabbard.

    No Idea both were made a very long time ago . Hit them with a new dbl cut fine they laughed at it, tried single fine and med bastard nope , tried three different stones heaviest was 100 grit took some off but I would have been months trying to straighten out the abuse they had taken. So 80 grit profiled back to the photos I could find of them and they sat waiting for their trip to a pro. I will dig up the pictures or similar give me a few .

    This is not Mine is in much better shape and has the original handle.

    That logo was used from 1914 to 1936 ( I collect Pexto Tools) :}
    There was some old stock so the axe could be as old as 103 yrs or more likely about 93 to 98 years old.

    Mann started making axes in 1861 this not mine it is one a found a picture of mines logo dates it somewhere between 1915 - 1947 note the handle if you ever see one of these axes it's handle is flat on the sides and the radius front and back haft are rounded in the crown flat leading up to the crown.

    I am reading some on D2 I am not a knife maker so ..lol I have to look stuff up that I have not heard or seen :} Anyhow one place says it is ok for folders but not a large chopper type knife though it is corrosion resistant it does chip easier then a 1095 steel . It shows as lower middle wear resistance comparable to several other steels used for making knives. Funny it does fall into a tool steel grade too so interesting material . Have you used a blade made from it before? If so how did you like it for edge and toughness ?

    I need to try the carpet cleaner again I don't think the soap is coming out of the machine. I have had a fan on one part all day and it seems dry but the one area is still really bad.
    I resemble that last remark

    Good evening, been long day and tired even though took the day off. Good day though. Youngest son broke down and cried a bit at one point this morning and said he was scared and didn't want to go through chemo again if that is what they decide. Couldn't tell him I was scared shitless myself, did tell him that me loosing him wasn't an option so he had to do it if that is what comes down. Time will tell. Other than that pretty good day except I forgot to take a picture of both my sons together, it doesn't happen often now that they are together.

    Did spend 2 hours in rush hour traffic up in the cities with 3.5 million other people. Don't miss the big city driving and think I'm finally settling down LOL. Hats off to those of you that do that every day. I'll stick with dealing with logging trucks and corn planters thank you very much! Hour and a half drive up there with the kid went fast. Driving back by myself seemed to take forever. Going to bed early tonight.

    Started working n lights today. Took my ditch lights off,applied the amber films , and relocated to the front bumper. Then I rerouted the harness that had gone to them down to the bumper and hooked them up. What should have taken perhaps an hour and a half took like 4. At least it was something to do. Next wi be mounting the new ditch lights and running the wires

    Thank you. He had been in remission for a year but it is back, early detection this time though not sure what they are going to do yet. Advanced stage IV diagnosed 2 years ago and they gave him at best a 40% chance of making it. But that still means hope. He's been through a lot for being 26. So have a lot of others though. Hug those kids :thumbsup:

    I do like the ones I have but I'm not a craftsman so I've never taken a crack at making one. Was a little concerned about the lower chromium content but so far so good with no signs of rust. Pretty damn tough. As far as the edge it's hard to say. It's good but the spines are so thick it's difficult to imagine a delicate edge.
