I can't join tomorrow, but I'm game for joining you on another day. I'm always looking for a chance to get off-road. A trip somewhere up around Big Bear would be awesome and I've never been up there to wheel.

    Highpoint truck trail is closed.

How do you guys feel about Lusardi truck trail? This one is open, appears to be rated as easy and approx 2 hours at 11.8 miles. Same general area as well.

    Found the trail head:

Using the link Madison posted, we take 78 to Haverford Rd, turn left on Pamo Rd and follow that for ~6 miles. From there we turn right onto 11S01 aka Lusardi truck Trail.

The trail is up and back, but the "end" of the trail does connect to Mesa Truck Trail. If we took Mesa TT back to the road it would lead us to Black Mountain truck trail which does eventually loop back to Pamo Rd, but would yield a full day trip rather than a few hours.

I'm thinking Lusardi trail up to Mesa, turn around and head back down is the best bet for this trip.

It's hard to tell as it looks like most of the trail is covered by trees, but towards the end of the trail there does appear to be some larger areas we could post up, hang out and have lunch.

I'm down for this on a day I have nothing else planned but with stuff in the afternoon/early evening I'd hate to be rushing.

Exactly. I think if we stick to 11S01 (Luscardi) we could drive up, turn around and drive back by noon. Trail should take an hour each way. At ~11 miles we just need to keep a pace of ~11 mph, and we will probably all be going a little faster than that :)

Meet spot at subway still looks to be good

As for questions A and B...
No clue if it'll be open but it appears to be open as of now.
I've never driven the trail before, but it looks to be very tame from what I could see.

If there's a challenging spot we can help you through it to keep your truck safe, it's the DD vehicle for most all of us as well.

I luckily have the app for Trails.com but sitting here on duty I'm doing my fair share of research.
:bananadance: So if we keep it at ~9 AM at the Subway and we turn around at the Mesa trail we're looking at being done around noon? I'm down. Idk where everyone else is but hopefully they still are down.

Roughly noon... it would be safer to anticipate 1pm. There will be people running late and of course lots of BSing throughout the day, plus a break at the top. But we could be done by noon. Meet at 9, say 30 minutes to the trail head (just guessing time), then and hour up, half hour break, hour back down. Done by noon.

I'm good with that! We'll be there! Hopefully everyone else will be too! :fingerscrossed: We may be between 9 and 9:15 due to my duty change over but then we'll be on our way!
