Peace man Not necessarily singling you out just saying the escalation here is exactly why they've been locking them.

Before we're cut off from our time at play here, OP I do appreciate the post and I do love the look of both the trucks, the one you truly wanted, and the one you ended up with. I hope the 3rd gen you got does not cause you problems in the near future because she is a beauty and deserves to live a long road life.

So you were at risk for using this dealership? That's the intent of my original comment to your "I'll be sure to never use that dealership"...i was being sarcastic about "dodging a bullet"

I'm usually peaceful, but encounters like these don't need to happen. Hit them with the facts first, then bite them back. That's why I followed up to OP with peace, not hate. I just hope the hatred leaves.

I may have come off on the wrong foot, didn't mean any bashing

It just seems the 2nd gen guys are a bit salty towards 3rd gen owners

I thought that's where the post was going

    I was mistaken

Thanks man, no hard feelings. I am the king of saltyness though, but maybe we're just salty because the 3rd gens look so good :D At this point, the 3rd gen goes against any norm, its pretty on the outside but horrendous on the inside lol some people enjoy the higher revs because they are used to it, maybe they came from driving a car previously, I don't know. All I know is the new 6spd auto is worse than any 6spd auto i have driven. Even my 13 pilot doesn't change gears that much. It has the power and the torque when I need it, with the Taco 6spd, I lose the feeling of any control, when I want power, it isn't there, and when it gets there, it's too late. Driving the new MT was a dream, it was intuitive and as long as I kept the revs up, I could make it up to speed in a breeze and pass when needed.

I think I will pick a vehicle out on that dealers site and ask for a bunch of ridiculous pictures like of the spare, fuse panel, inside the glove box, the oil filter ect and then when they email them to me just send them a email back that says "fuck you".

Sweet trucks, is that stock suspension on the 3rd gen?

I also got the run around when i got my 3rd gen, I put a big deposit down and told them I wanted a week before I traded in my silverado because I was going to use it for work and needed my canopy for various reasons ... and when I came to pick the truck up, it was being test drove by another customer... and it had 110 miles on the speedometer (up from 70 when I test drove it which I thought was high for a new truck to begin with). I asked why there were so many more miles since I put almost half down in cash and it was supposed to be sitting in a lot waiting for me. Turns out, since it was the only manual trd off road in the area at the time it got a lot of attention and salesmen were showing it to people before they would place their orders. For some reason at the time I didn't really care and even talked to the dude who was driving it about how cool the tacomas were but come to think of it, dealerships do some shady shit when they have your money!

EDIT- That extra week with my silverado included some "goodbye offroading" so I think the dealer and I understood each other...

What does this even mean, and why would they have to do it on a used vehicle? That does sound like bullshit. These three words in that sequence literally mean nothing to me. Did they tell you what it was?
