While I'm flattered, I feel like there are better trucks here than mine.

Tell her no... that people want to see the Trailer.... it did not ride on a ship for however long to NOT come to Jambo to get fondled and make everyone envious....

I would love a Flippac.... but right now looking at a Hardshell RTT for the Aero... but now I am curious on how much a Flippac would be compared to Autohome or James Baroud...

    Really? Well dang.

The only issue I have with the Flippac is that I still like the carry stuff in the bed... would it interfere or anything with that?

I already have a camper shell with a Prinsu rack. However, it is not the reinforced one. So my plan was to get a hardshell RTT, put it on the cab and then put what I have on the cab on the shell rack. Like what jandymendo does from Instagram

The Handbrake is allot more agreeable to camping now that we have the FlipPac. Eventually I'll build a new interior for it soon so I can get the weight sorted for the rear suspension rebuild.

It's coming along weather she wants it to or not.

Agreed on the pricing. Most of the hard shell RTT's are in the same price range of a second hand FlipPac, not including any racks or mounting hardware that is still required.

With the FlipPac you have to remember hat there is a piece of fabric that spans the width to hold the tent material up so that you still have use of the bed space and the enclosed area inside the shell. In mine I hauled a whole set of four 37" wheel sets - standing upright - and my own 35" spare plus tools, recovery gear, and a 20lb CO2 bottle with room to spare.

Good to hear on the trailer.

As far as the Flippac or the RTT... had a thought... since I already have the shell and the rack... would more than likely go with a Hardshell RTT because in the future if I ever get another vehicle or anything I can just move the RTT over to the new vehicle unlike the Flippac.

Now that the new rear bumper is on I've moved the CB antenna to the right rear and mounted the whip light to the left rear. Need to replace the CB cable that is too short and sort out the wiring nightmare that is my "professional install" but thankfully there are some brilliant and patient people in the St. Louis area that are willing to help in their spare time now and again.

Man those antennas ended up surprisingly straight for those tabs being welded onto a compound angled round tube.

Rumor has it that "math and stuff" may have been involved. But then again, MK1 eyeballs do pretty good from time to time as well.

Right, so my wife - who has her technician ticket - wants to get a GMRS license and while I think they are "neat" I can't really think of a benefit to having them in the truck. Do that many people use them to make it worth it as a "just in case" expense for trails and such?

She's wanting to buy these middle of the road Midland mobiles.

    Another question...

Any of you materials guys know what this is called or where to get more? I'm looking for a couple six foot sticks but I'm coming up empty. "Extruded plastic strip" has been my best guess. Doesn't have to be blue.

HDPE slide rail. Got the answer from someone in another thread.

In other news the anodizing on my @Baja Designs lights has started to fade and when I mentioned it to Bailey in a PM he said no problem, we'll replace that for you. Just another reason I love doing business with American companies that make their own stuff.
