    Hello Gents

I have purchased 3 hydraulic lines for my 2004 Tacoma, wil be replacing them soon and change the brake fluid to DOT 3/4.

The new lines did not come with crush washers, and I prefer to change them (might as well). I think I need 6 in total correct? (2 for each line X 3 lines).

I do need the part number for them please.

    Thanks

    Alex

or... if you have a Harbor Freight close by they sell a multi pack of copper washers. My local dealers, 3 of them, did not have the crush washers in stock.

I appreciate that info as a backup.

But for an inexpensive item like this, I rather use Toyota ones. Last thing I need is a leak because of a $3 part.

if you have a part #, I will find it on the web and buy it. Can't find the part #

    Thanks

    Alex

Just email your question at a good oem parts dealer like Camelback Toyota (or pm @gunny1005 whose a rep for them) or partznet.com.

Copper washer/gasket are pretty much all the same. Any Ace Hardware will have a bulk assortment you can pick from. Dealer wont be as cheap as you think. I'd bet at least $5 for each one.

    Thanks gents

Will look at alternative if I do not find a part #. I will also check Amazon.

The hardware store copper washers may be thicker/thinner have a different diameter , etc. And they may look like copper bit be inferior material from overseas. I have seen this with several items (non Toyota).

But I appreciate all the replies. I wil find the part # and buy OEM.

I like that you are trying to do the right thing and replace them, but you don't need to replace them when you replace the lines, as long as the washers and both surfaces are clean these washers reseal many times over so its not something you need to replace unless you lose one.

Ok thanks. I will keep that in mind.

Just very finicky here, I torque everything to spec too, have seen many examples of "it is good enough" not being good enough.
