the 'Tank Average' panel is a more accurate gage for MPG, and closer to the listed EPA estimate of 23 mpg. This panel's number is also closer to the number that results from dividing the actual travel miles by the amount of fuel put in.

I'd want to kill myself if I drove like a grandma all the time.

I dont have the patience or inclination to baby my vehicle to eek out a few more mpgs. I'd rather add one extra fill up a year and enjoy it.

16 TRD OR, 14,000 miles. Stock except for tonneau cover. No towing yet. Mixed freeway, highway, stop and go city, trail driving in 4Hi. Low calculated mpg was 18.7. High was 23.5 on a tank with little stop and go.

Generally significantly higher mpg in warmer temps, usually in the 20-22 range, but mostly under 20 mpg during Minnesota winter. Used mostly 89 octane with ethanol, also 87 with ethanol. Now I am running 87, because I have seen no benefit with 89. I rarely lead foot it, occasionally use ECT. Have not done the trans flash. Can't complain about my Taco's mpg...

I bought a camper top and saw my gas mileage go up. Atlanta traffic for commute mostly, some out of perimeter trips thrown in... 4x4 SR5 DCLB with a camper, getting around 22mpg now for the last 3 tanks.

I had a highway-only tank coming back from picking the topper up in South GA, that tank was my best yet at around 26mpg.

I wasn't babying it "for a few more mpgs", I was babying it to get a reduction in my insurance. Now that that's done it's driven like a truck.

Just did a trip from Grass Valley, CA to Las Vegas, then to Napa Valley and back home to Grass Valley. 2017 TRD Pro, camper shell, and there was about 500lbs of gear in the truck for the drive to Vegas. I got 21.1mpg on the drive to Vegas... then the drive from Vegas to Napa I had a nasty headwind and averaged 14.0mpg. Napa back to home netted me 18.6mpg.

All in all, not bad I guess. Way better than the 2012 Tundra I had!
