There's quite a difference between 285/75/16's and 285/75/17's but we were able to do all the clearanceing in the wheel well without having to cut the fenders. It's a good days work but a great alternative to having to take the next step to 35's. we cut the cab mounts all the way back to the frame and cut pretty much the whole end off. I got in there and fabbed the plates on the cabmount so I completely boxed it back in and welded underneith. I did end up having to trim the corner back off and 45ing it but his also allows you to angle the front plate back some.

 

You know it's bad if you have to cut the genders.

I know I don't have to but the temptation is strong. The first thing I did was change out the front mud flaps. The stock ones were just annoying. The next is a canopy. Just saving up my pennies. I don't do the credit thing so it takes me time.

It's a Toyota so you have time! I've been tickled with the ride quality and handling with the bilsteins and eibach combo in the front and 3 leaf all in the rear. Moderate yet functional lift

 

There is not a big difference between the 16 and 17s. And I am running MTs, not ATs.
I didn't have to do a CMC or trim the fenders...the tires are doing that. The plastic insert was trimmed and the pinch welds are taking a beating.

 

I'm talking 285/75 /17's and mt tires they are 34's + . Your correct almost no difference between 285/75 16's and 285/70/17's but when you take that jump to a 75 in a 17 it's quite a bit larger. The 285/75/17 is basically a 34x11.5

 

3% bigger, all in the wheel. Why are we having a Pissing contest? Sorry

 

Thats good, means the truck will last you longer. Also means less wear and tear and maintenance costs, so you should be able to afford that locker now.

 

I keep looking at the katzkin covers, if I am going to drop a grand into this truck it will be heated leather seats. They are so nice looking

 

I'm not just making sure we're talking the same tire most times when people start talking about the 285'75's it's confused with the 285' 70's. I'm still liking the 255's I got it took some getting used to them being skinnier
