Also, what are the dimensions? That thing looks humongous and unappealing hanging off the side of the console. Enough slack to stuff it under a seat?

    a bunch of mods

Yes, you are exactly correct. Start the truck move the shifter to S, Done.. The device will handle all shifts to 5th/6th on its own. There is no need to tap it up to 6th and no user interaction required whatsoever after you shift it to S' to engage. And yes, as many of the test-users commented (and personal experience as well), the shift to S becomes second nature after about 1 week.

This will be one of those wait and see items. I really wouldn't want to mount it where they recommend. If I could tuck the whole unit under the dash I would be more interested.

I'm sure there are plenty of OBD II extension cables available. And extending the other wires should be a joke, too.

Extend and mount wherever your heart pleases.

what's so big that needs to fit in the box?? Microprocessor, relays, etc are pretty small. Just curious.
I'm holding out to see others reviews..Very interested though.
Would be so nice to crack into the ECU and just change the shifting pattern itself.

That's a good point. When you get yours can you shoot me a PM. I'm curious to learn more after you have tinkered with it a bit.

    I'll post a review here.

To start off with, I'm not in the "it shifts so bad I want to sell the truck" camp. I'm happy with the truck, but I think there's room for improvement. Especially evident when the truck is heavily loaded. I'm totally convinced that the truck has plenty of power and it's just a matter of shift points, so I have pretty high hopes for this product. Review will come closer to next weekend.

    Same here.
If possible I'd like to see if there's room under the console for the box. If not I'll get an obdII extension and mount it under the seat.

Yep! I automatically shift to s every time I drive now. It takes a conscious decision to make it just to d.

I really excited for this. I had pen in hand to trade in mine in for a manual because I hated the transmission. I still do but I like my access cab too much. So I live with it.

does this mean that the information center in the dash will constantly be showing "S1-6"? i kinda like having the nav turn by turn show up there.

I think there will just be a small box in the lower left hand corner that would display the gear. When not in "S" mode there's a "D" there normally.

Hoping for someone to test this to see if both the scangage and this work together without any alarms for BSM etc. I too want to be able to monitor the trans temps.
