Shoot I had a 1k ecobox that got 35+ mpg.

Also felt like it'd float off the road at 70 mph. 90's Nissan Sentra...

Civic. Those 90's Sentras had a solid beam rear suspension IIRC. Can't imagine it handled well.

I had a 99' Passat (5-speed, 1.8 turbo) wagon about 2 years ago when I switched jobs and didn't have a company vehicle. Got it for $2500 (with 110k miles), bought tires and wheels for $500, sold the 18" Audi wheels it came with for $300. Aside from tax & registration, I was into it $2700. Sold it for $3200 five months later when they gave me a company vehicle. Saved my truck from about 10,000 miles, so it was worth it. If I had the space, I would have kept it. Got about 28 - 30 mpg.

Nice. I never took a photo of mine. I was driving a 99 Dodge Cummins right about the time fuel went to $5.25/gal. So I bought a 94 Sentra with 90k miles for $1000. Drove it until fuel went back to a reasonable rate and sold it for $1k. It was a fun car b/c I cared very little for it and it had a 5-speed.

    Looked kinda like this:

    *from the internetz.

Only did a tune up and added the cheapest 14" tires I could find the entire time I owned it. Not too shabby.

I've been posting a lot but before I forget.

This is a text I get from my wife yesterday morning. C is 7 and M is 4.

"What's the plan tonight? When I told the boys it was cinco de mayo: C asked to go to Panda Express and M asked for sushi."

I figured here was a good place to remind everyone of how awesome @Bentrodder is. I popped by his place for a CMC yesterday. Righteous dude and he made quick work of the cab mounts. His garage is like looking back down memory lane for me. Hopefully we can collaborate on the bed storage plans I have. I absolutely suck at tig welding...

A few weeks ago I told Peter he has an "Old man garage". Meant it as a compliment. I could spend hours in that garage just looking at old tools, hotrod parts, and RC car & plane things. Even has a Novak or Tekin (can't remember) poster for those that remember the 1980's RC 10 glory days.
