    hello,
I blew my engine ( 1998 3rz) and had to buy one from the junkyard, i changed the headgasket and cleaned it up. I put it back in and it wouldn't start, did a compression test and got
    cylinder 1 90psi
    cylinder 2 80psi
    cylinder 3 90psi
    cylinder 4 110
and it smell like gaz is in the oil.
is it my rings? or my HG ?

    Rings.

You got a junkyard junker. Hopefully they gave you a warranty!

Next time do the compression testing before installing the motor and save some headaches.

Do a wet compression test. Sounds like rings though.

What if my engine didn't start ? it should start even though it has low compression, could it be my valve adjustments? The head has been moved around.
