LOL... I offered a pair for his hands. And had a long talk with him on the others, including his mom. Sat the daughter down and had my Mr. Mom talk with her. Been to her doctor and took care of them issues/worries.

    Fastener gurus - Question.

After having had this happen once:

And having a small pile of stock u-bolt nuts on hand.

Is there any downside to this? As in, will it mess up the threads on the bolts? Or something else I'm not thinking about?

    My OCD really likes it.

Not that I'm aware of, that's how I've got my UCA bolts in right now, drives my OCD nuts as well but no issues.

I knew this day would come, and every father that has a daughter will have to deal with this type of situation EVENTUALLY.

Hopefully, knowing how you where when being a teenager, you can keep a cool level head, and deal with it in a appropriate manor.

    Kids will be kids.

Double nutting is pretty common practice. (Insert teenage boy joke here)
Is there enough room to drill and cotter pin it?

Since we're on the topic of nutting should I be concerned with using a grade 8 bolt and a questionable grade nut together? IMG_4398.jpg This is my transfer case skid. Had a 6" bolt in there but couldn't get the mid skid to hook on the 4 crossmember bolts and also get the front side of the skid over the ifs skid. Had to use a 5" bolt instead but then they were too short to use a lock nut. Had these flange bolts sitting in my toolbox and they worked perfect but they aren't grade 8 and not enough thread sticking out to use a washer. Also they are course thread which makes me nervous without a lock nut.

If anyone is interested in this sort of thing, I'm having my first group gallery show in SF at the Jules Maeght Gallery in Hayes Valley. The opening is on Thursday May 18th at 6pm, but it will be up through July.

shit if i had a daughter and was making the boyfriend split wood in order to keep him from splitting wood IYKWIM i would make him use and axe and splitter while I use the hydro splitter and just watch his jealousy

Have you tested your charger on another phone to make sure it's not a faulty cable or USB outlet?
