took the blade off my lawn mower to sharpen it and now the mower is blowing icky smoke!!!

 

Good afternoon folks. Got 9 hours ot in at work and prep'd for the rest of the week. Had a little wind damage from last night. Lost a light pole and a information board. Other than that, everything's good.

Got home just in time to see the NASAR crash.

 

guessing that was some serious wind.

 

You flipped the mower and got oil into the cyl and or tank.

It was a combination of 70 mph winds and a rotten pole...so now I get to go core drill all the wood poles. I'm changing them out next year anyway, but it'd be nice not to have to put off other projects we have plannee for this year, but if I gotta, I gotta.

 

Will it burn off?

Just like Mike mentioned when you turned your mower over to replace the blade oil got into the cyl which is normal
It should burn off until you use up thank tank of gas

did you put the mower on it's side to remove the blade? If so, the muffler side or the carburetor side? If it was the muffler side oil has gone into the muffler.

Check your oil level. Make sure it's ok

 

Myself I push the handle down to the ground and put a cement block on it. Keeps the front wheels hi and able to get the blade off.

 

All I wanna do is go fishing..

I've always done it this way and it's never done this before.. Oh, well, will just smoke the neighbors out
