    Just installed new bilstein 5100 shocks 0n my 2002 4 door prerunner. The right rear is Squeeking real loud. Will that stop or I just got a bad one.

    You could try putting some silicone grease between the posts and rubber bushings to see if that fixes it. Also doesnt hurt to sand down any rust on the posts while you are there

    When I took the old ones off the posts were as clean as bran new. But I will try some silicone. Thank you.

    I tightend them to spec. I got the torque spec from this forum. I might have just got a bad one. Thank you.

    Fluid film is a good squeak preventer as well, but we'll see what it could be - any lube will help you to know if that's what it is if it works once at least. How do the new shocks make your ride?

    I'm real happy with the ride. I put 5100s all around with 880 springs in the front. Leveled it out just the way I wanted it. If there was no squeek, I'd be real happy. What is fluid film?

    Now I think the squeek is coming from my leef spring at the rear bushing. Didn't start making noise until I installed the shocks. Any fix for that? By the way, they are new also. I put them on about 6 months ago.

    Ya, not sure. I used a stethoscope to find wear it was coming from. That's were I heard it the loudest. Doesn't meen the sound wasn't running down the steel though.

    Just get some of that fluid film (Lowes and Home Depot should have it too) and spray in between the leafs and then if the squeak is still there, you know it's probably the bushings. You can also put some hard plastic between the leafs to temporarily diagnose the squeak - I put some material between the leafs and that stopped my old ones from squeaking for a year or so until the material wore through. Just jack up the frame to get them to separate. A few other guys have done this kind of stuff w/o any bad effects.
