yes... we love our food lol. you ever had a delicious pad thai after a long day of hiking!?! oh man, its sexual. we usually bring more food than gear. we end up just hanging one of our packs in a tree because that's about all thatll hold it all.

If you can carry it, more power to you! Good food on the trail is so important. I lose my appetite very easily when I put on big miles, so having quality food keeps me eating. The trick is finding the good stuff that maximizes calories per ounce (I aim for 150 cal/oz) and to repackage things to save space. Only so much that you can do with just dehydrated foods though. I still take my perishables even if it only holds up for the first couple of days. Cheese, preserved meats, tortillas, etc.

true. we limit our miles so that we can enjoy the downtime to eat and relax. we rarely take dehydrated stuff, but we are also normally only hiking and camping in the winter months so its usually cold enough that everything stays good and fresh. if the temps are supposed to get above 50, we don't go.

Agreed 100% especially after a long day on the trail.

And it's nice to have a stool to sit on around a campfire.

You won't ever have to or want to buy another stove for the rest of your life! Enjoy it.

Now the issue is deciding if i want to drill holes in it for a swingout.

That way it's already connected, swing it out, tailgate is free, light it up.

When I first read your post, I was like are you nuts? But then I saw the pics and that is a hell of an idea. Drilling holes in it is obviously not going to hurt that stove, provided that your placement is not in a area that would interfere with the functionality. To be honest, there's not a whole lot to that stove. The actual functioning parts of that stove are pretty minimal compared to the entirety of the stove. You're just talking about drilling holes in it's case, which is nothing. Hell, even if you change your mind, you can fill it with some small stainless hardware or even have a someone throw a weld on it. Or do nothing and just have a few small holes in it… No biggie!

Just saw where Gander Mountain is closing all 157 stores after being bought at auction by Camping World. They also purchased Overton's in the deal which is known in the waterskiing arena's. They are still accepting gift cards until May 18th. If you have any go use them before it's too late. All sales are now final.

I was surprised the last few times I went to the local one here with hardly anyone being there. Was really strange. It just opened a few years ago here. It was the only real outdoor store around here.

No even an admin. Just a member. I called him on his bullshit.

He snow shoed out Glacier Pt Road. Snow was as high as the roof of an outhouse. He walked on the WOOD SHINGLED roof with his snowshoes.

I still have not had time to do anything with the Camp Partner Stove other than move it from the bed to a dresser. But I was somewhat let down to realize it doesn't even have a push button ignitor. Just seems like something that should be included on a very expensive stove. So... I guess I'll be ordering something online to fix that overlooked problem.

I bring a butane torch. Super easy, reliable. Makes starting fires a breeze, too.

I understand there are solutions.... But the only reason I can see them not putting one on is since it would eventually break... other than just being cheap. With it being VERY heavy plus that slight let down, we're not off to a great start. Hopefully things pick up soon. :D

I don't disagree haha. I use the cheapest, basic $50 Coleman classic so I am used to not having an igniter haha.
