    Yes it is. The way the kit is designed makes the reverse lights come on as normal when shifted into reverse. But, the lights do not come on when the camera button is pressed.

    I can make a kit that allows the lights to come on with the switch as well. It would actually be cheaper as it would require less components.

    Couple of questions for the OP:
    -Is the only difference between the $20 kit and the $50 kit the type of switch you receive?
    -Is this compatible with the smaller screens like on the SR models?
    -Can the switch be wired to a switch pro, and if so, can you supply a long enough switch harness at an additional cost?

    -yes, the difference between the two kits is the better switch and extra wiring you receive.

    -This kit will work with any 3rd gen Tacoma. SR included

    - switch pros are compatable and very easily done. The kit for the switchpros is only $10 due to the lack of switch and bulk of wiring. A full set of instructions and wiring diagram in included for the switch pro setup also
