Because the interior harness is a bitch to get out.

Sent my interior harness to have the plug I cut off, reinstalled.

    I'm an idiot.

It's okay though. Gave me time to start converting the doors to power windows and locks.

Got the truck started tonight. The interior harness did the trick. I'm so stoked. The only things left are: attaching transfer case ad driveshafts, burping the coolant, bleeding the clutch, and putting the exterior/interior back together. Let's do this!

Not yet. Motor starts, runs. I still need to burp the coolant, assemble the interior, attach transfer case, and do the driveshafts. Just about there.

Update: after pulling an all-nighter with my buddy DJ, the truck runs and drives.

Since every project has a few kinks, here's what I still need to work out:

•heater core copper plumbing cracked, and pissed coolant EVERYWHERE! We re-routed it and bypassed the heater core.

•the power steering line needs a new gasket (pissing everywhere)

•the a/c lines aren't even close to the same. I'll take it to some a/c specialist and have them splice the new and existing lines together. Also needs a dryer and a charge.

    •the speedometer is hilariously inaccurate.

•all the lights need hooking up again.

•I'm currently running open headers (because I had to buy a new midpipe, which came with no flange

•finally, the drivers side window switch doesn't work for the passesngers window going down, but it works going up.

In conclusion, this swap was successful in my mind, but has fought me EVERY. SINGLE. STEP.

You're crazy for doing all this man haha. I'm going to end up doing it one day too. Great work.

Can you elaborate on the moving of the engine mounts? How did you tackle that?

Use a cut off wheel to cut the 4 cyl mounts as cleanly as possible. Weld them back on about 3/4" towards the cab. It's really close. If you do that, the tranny mounts line right up.
