    Just thought I'd throw this out there;

    3 road trips over the past week....That gave me a good opportunity to check gas mileage again. BEFORE the 285/75r16's and gears, I would get 19+ on the interstate. If I drove slow enough (55to 60) over 20 mpg on occasion. Once the 285's went on, best I could do was just a tic over 17, average around 16.2. With the 3.73 gears on the shelf in favor of 4.10's, mileage went UP slightly at reasonable speeds. We drove just over 250 miles, all interstate, average speed close to 65 mph and got 17.85 mpg. Yesterday we went 188 miles on 10.05 gallons, so close to 18 mpg @ 60 mph. Just DO NOT push speeds up to 75 or 80.....Mileage drops to 13.5/14 range.

    Also, tire PSI set @ 34. Initially was running @ 29psi.

    I didn't buy this truck to compete with a Prius....but it is useful for trip planning to know expected mileage.

    The trip yesterday was one we have taken numerous times. I know the EXACT distance. Over 188 miles, Odo was off about 3.7 miles....reads higher than actual.

    Long story short....does it clear the tires or not?

    are you "over geared" now with the 4.10's? (otherwise your odo should be lower than actual)
    notice any difference in skinny pedal?

    Ever so slightly over geared....At 55 mph, I read about 225 (+ or -) rpm above where it was stock w/stock rubber. Now that I'm getting used to it, the most noticeable change is in high gear (automatic) but nothing too radical. Cruise control doesn't make tranny jump up/down near as often. Just opinion....but the overall gearing now is more like what I'd expect it to be straight off the showroom floor. Seems to leave a stop light with SLIGHTLY less effort, and with that, a bit smoother.

    You will be in rare company...Way too many people these days see their degree being almost obsolete before they finish paying off student loans! Congrats!

    i was able to get mine delayed by taking classes through work (no charge to me, but it deferred my loans), paid off my wife's loans in the mean time by living off of one of our paychecks. now we're working on mine. dumping almost my entire paycheck into them. i don't really care about my credit score because i don't like buying things i don't have money for and i don't like owing money on money. i would much rather make money on money :p
    (yes i do realize i'll need a loan to buy a house but i plan on doing a 15 year that allows me to pay extra on the principal and doesn't have penalties for paying it off early)
    most of our furniture, dishes, etc. is all second hand. doesn't match. i don't care.

    but i did spend way too much money on my suspension... because race truck :mudding:

    My rubbing was never on the cab mount to begin with, it was on the plastic of the fender. But since I already knew I'd be going up to 33s it was a job that needed doing one way or another.
    I fixed all my rubbing with a heat gun weeks ago lol

    :rolleyes: At least you have a v6 and get that mileage. My poor little 4 banger behaves the same way, still falls on it's face if I'm not ready to climb a hill. Even at highway speeds.

    I'm running the heavy Grabbers at about 40 PSI last I checked. Yea, it's high, but the truck drives perfectly
