    So would a 31m be a bit of a overkill for a 4 cylinder or would the 27F be fine.....

    If you're just using as a starting battery and don't have many accessories, id go 27F. As it stands I got a 31m for my 4 cylinder but its going where the spare tire is and Im using it for a solar panel/off grid camping setup. If I was buying a starter battery id get a 27f for my 4cyl. Still an upgrade from the 24f that comes in them

    I got lots of Lights LOL! But I still can't believe the stock battery isn't maintenance free...... I mean come on now its 2017......

    That's why I'm thinking it wouldn't be a bad time to upgrade and sell the stock battery for some money and put that towards the new one!

    Sounds like an opportune time to upgrade like you said. Keep in mind, you will need a bigger mounting location for the 31M..

    So with the 27F I can use the stock mount but lets say i go 31m, I'd have to get somehting like the @Pelfreybilt battery mount?

    Yes sir, that is my understanding. I didn't feel like moving things around in the engine bay or buying a bigger mount so I opted to just build a custom box for mine that is welded to the receiver hitch.

    Actually you might not have to move things around so that may not apply to you. I was trying to just do a dual battery setup and couldn't figure out where to mount mine. Then I decided to just get a 31m and make it fit somewhere.

    Edited: seems like things were cramped in my 09 2.7l. Not sure if its any better in the gen 3 2.7's
