So I have a question. My buddy got an XJ on Thursday and proceeded to get it stuck and ruin the transmission at Page Rd. So I had to go pull his Heep out. And while I was doing that my buddy grabbed my shovel and dug out the pumpkins and threw it to the side. We then left and I completely forgot about it. I don't feel like spending the $40 for a new one so I want to go get it back gas mileage is cheaper. (Side note, I had never even heard of Page Rd. and I needed him to navigate me there) But then afterwards, one of the guys I wheel with told me that Page Rd is illegal/trespassing. So my main question is do any of you know what up with Page Rd? If I go back to get my shovel will I be trespassed? Should I forget Page Rd even exists? It's mostly just mud holes anyways and tbh I'm not a fan of that. Mud just ruins moving parts.

Is it forest service land or private property? If it's forest service land I would think you would be just fine even if it's considered trespassing. To be honest, Hurricane Creek trail (in WNC) is technically illegal to drive and is owned by the forest service but it's just overlooked as long as you're respectful of the land

    Where to begin?
    1. Could you got to Google and pin-point where you were? I'm familiar with Page Rd that runs from S. Miami to 70. I use it sometimes when coming home from 85 if I don't want to take Durham Freeway or 70 to 540. There may be some new construction in that area, and there are some trails behind the GE Turbofan plant, but I wouldn't go near those.

    2. My buddy dug out the pumpkins.. whoa where did the pumpkins come from?

    3. These are $40 worth of pumpkins.

    4. Trespassing? sounds like you may have been behind GE Aviation.

    5. Sounds like the story itself is your defense. I'd go back, and along the way if you see any signs, make note of it. Pick up your shovel and if any authorities stop you, point to your pumpkins and tell them your story. If you don't see any signs along the way and you don't go through a gate then there really isn't much you can be charged with if you comply and leave when asked.

If you aren't arrested, tell us WTF you were?

There is no legal wheeling around Raleigh, unless it's private land and he had permission, I highly doubt that. Does this stop people, no, do they get caught, no, do they come up with stories as to why they do it, yes, do they say they have been seen by cops and they don't get arrested, yes.

    1. So the zoomed out photo shows the area. I got off on the Page Rd. exit on 40 then took a left and it was right there immediately on my right where the guardrail ends. The zoomed in photo shows about where it is. Never saw a sign and I'm headed there now to get my shovel. Will update on whether I get arrested or not. Will say that there was a drying machine back there if anyone needs one!

    2. There's a little farm with pumpkins, pine apples, papaya, only fruit starting with P....

    3. I know! I was going to make tacoma theme jackolanterns and throw them and unsuspecting Jeeple.

Will update on status of shovels and pumpkins.

I don't think it was private land that he had permission for... It was like on some powerlines so it makes me think it's city of Raleigh's land but I have no clue, I guess I could check the NC Tax payer's map and find out though.

Bingo. Yep always best to do you're own research. I very well could be wrong but it sounds like we're on the same page.

If it's owned by the power company be warned, they are usually assholes and will call the cops.

Anyone heard of "CHARLES RUSSELL WELLONS FOUNDATION & WELLONS INC" on the Durham property map, a good majority of the trails are either unowned (I'm assuming that means city of Durham) or owned by that company. Everything I'm finding just says they're a Nonprofit organization and thats all. Could maybe be connected to a company that builds homes for seniors but that's a big maybe.

Update: Shovel retrieved, didn't see any signs, got mud on the tires, and didn't get arrested. Now to Bojangles and to a power wash to get this carolina clay off. I would say this Monday started off right.

Come on out to URE with us for some legal wheeling. Day passes are $5/day, and a season pass is $30 (April-Nov/ish).

I wanted to get out there this weekend but bossman needed me. I'm getting my new tires and my lift kit here pretty shortly so I may put those on first before I head up that way. Light wheeling isn't an issue but I think if I go to URE I may finally meet the TacoBot's match.

I'll definitely be out there more often after June comes around though!

Yea get your lift on. There's nothing too hard out there, but having the lift/tires will make you cringe less. Richland Rd 5/20.

Graduation stuff going on that day. This next month is beyond filled up for me but after June 13th I'll be out of the slammer and a free man until I get into college then back to the grind. I may see if some guys want to hit Richland soon though, never been there and I hear it's awesome.
