I had to go snap a pic of the pelican.

Every year I would get new cooler, Baja and desert trips just killed them. When I stumbled on the pelican at blowout sale, I still paid $250.00 for it. Now, I will say it was worth it. Excellent construction, stainless hardware, big rubber feet, heavy duty handles and pelican lifetime warranty.

If you pre chill your drinks, pre chill your cooler with ice, in my experience, it has held ice for 8 days in 100 degree weather in Baja.

The cooler is built to stand the test of time.

The only drawback is that the cooler is big and heavy. Empty it's a bitch to get in the truck by myself, loaded, forget about it.

Now, I would say buy what you can afford, with that said, I am eyeballing a RTIC 20 soft cooler, and will most likely have one soon.

I compared my RTIC 30 oz cup to my friends yeti 30 oz , seemed the same to me, lids swapped no problem. I would bet they came from the same factory.

I am going to strongly disagree with you.

I ordered a RTIC 65 when they had a sale and this is what I was sent (this is brand new btw)

I now have the Yeti 65 and I am very happy with the purchase.

Well guys I decided to surprise the GF with an RTIC soft 20 cooler. Since they were out of the lunchbox version, I figured this wouldn't be much better. Funny that a Yeti GB thread caused this purchase, but thanks guys!

Wow man what did they say in the molding process? I have two of the yeti hard shell coolers, but wow I would of been shocked with that.

I sent the pictures to RTIC and they sent me a full refund and a return shipping label. The only thing they told me was they would be sending me a refund. No explanation. Horrible QC.

I am extremely happy with my Yeti. Not one flaw and ive taken it out to the desert and holds up as advertised. I will never buy another RTIC product.

I can def see your stance, I bet there wasn't much they could say in response. I mean Im sure any testimonial you could provide if provoked probably wouldn't of been positive. Might as well act as if it didn't exist. Hopefully the soft cooler will be legit though as obviously it wont go through the same molding process.

I wanted the RTIC to be good but what I was sent they lost me as a customer.

My brother has the RTIC soft cooler and loves it so I think you should be good. I just cant give them another chance. I could see if it was a small blemish that wasnt caught by QC but what I was sent looked like it fell off the plane while it was being shipped from China.

Im surprised with your photos it would of made ANY QC. I do agree I think that one must of slipped through. I have a few buddies with their 65 and luckily they didn't have that experience.

That could be a lot of risk though, I don't know the extent to what a possible "unsealed" cooler can achieve. But considering the options, I think you might be better off buying without those blemishes.

I just don't know if TW would jump on board... I can get Grizzly coolers and haven't even entertained a GB since RTIC has such a positive following around here. Hell, I might even buy one for myself.

That does suck. But I know a lot of people with rtic coolers, myself included without those kinda problems. All the coolers have been really solid. I'm pretty tough on my coolers. One elk hunt in az and all my coolers look worse then those do. I also have a grizzley 75. A few deboned elk take up a lot of cooler space so I got quite a few of these things. But like I said they would all be rtic if I knew about them before I bought the yeti and grizzley.

The thing to take away from this though is they didn't fight him at all, sent a shipping label, and refunded. You have to admit for a substandard product, they did the right thing in a timely fashion from the sound of it. It still sucks getting a product like this with a strong expectation and to see these results though.

I'll stick with my RTIC. Backed over it in the sand when it fell off my tailgate. Barely a scratch.

Might be better to purchase the Ozark Trail at Walmart, just so you can inspect it before purchase, unlike taking a chance with RTIC.

I think my tan yeti 65 has the wheelers sticker in the exact same spot!

Those look pretty awesome. I've got an RTIC 45 and it's great. Would never buy a Yeti. They're just stupid expensive and RTIC is literally the same product for 50-60% less.

I can't tell if this is a Yeti GB or an RTIC fan thread. I have a Yeti Tundra 45 and love it, but it was a gift from my wife. If I was in the market I'd probably go with RTIC given the cost and the fact that it's a cooler at the end of the day. The Yeti is a solid choice and it does keep my beer ice cold for days, it's just costly and takes away from the funding of future mods..
