Im with monte on that one. I would just get it up to date and then slowly swap everything over and sell the extended cab. No real need for both IMO.

Lol well I guess I wasn't thinking correctly. The tacoma got probably 17 or 18 maybe with the 33s and bumper, the 4runner got like 14.

Highway in this truck (ram 1500) is roughly 18. That's going 80+

all three. Swap everything over and then just list it for sale like 3 grand high lol. If no one buys it then keep using parts.

What year is yours and the double cab? if they are the same, you can just swap the auto over to your current truck and then yeah..just use it as a DD really. Or sell it if you want.

O im with ya, easy to keep and use. But then why have another?

I guess my needs are different. I would only want one ideally that can DD then go to the mountains. A dedicated and DD would be awesome as well but I just can't justify that.

Plus already has a small car lot lol if you can make 3 grand put that towards o shit moments with the new one and come out money ahead on the deal.

well then perfect. You can just swap ECUs and trannys over no problem. So you can keep both running easily no matter what you decide.

The storage containers that will go under my platform showed up today. As a bonus Amazon boxed them so now I am covered on moving boxes. Once I get to Idaho I'll start building covers for these out of cordura. The ones in the rear will have a rope on the front so I can hook them to pull them forward. Once the platform is built I'll look for smaller containers to fill the dead space.

Should be able to store all my tools, recovery gear, camping, and cookware in these, leaving the platform open for Ash and a cooler. Just need a high-rise cap now.

I'm guessing the durago will need sold to justify this..haha Or making it Kirsten's Rig...which I know has been thought about but also not something you totally want..

forgot you were doing that even.

Look like nice containers. Do they have lids or no?

I've been reconsidering a Bed Slide type deal. Would make getting too some stuff much easier.

No lid. They sell lids seperate for some containers. I plan on making a cinch system with the cordura covers so I could technically use more space vertically with them.

Great containers though. Sturdy and won't be bending/warping easily.

I guess if you're getting a new topper, water tight isn't as needed..which is what I was thinking more of.

    Looks nice though.

Not to worried about water tight at all. All my camping gear will be in waterproof sacks and the rest can get a little wet. I am sure the platform and cordura cover will keep any water out.

 sounds like a good plan. Not a fan of highrise toppers(sorry Zane) but sounds like it'll work for you.

Lol, not a fan of the look of the high rise toppers, but I think BabyT can pull it off. It's all about function at this point. Love the soft topper but crawling in the bed sucks. I want ash to be able to stand up if he's just hanging out back there at camp.

I'll be looking at mid-rise as well and re-thinking my needs. Ash's kennel is an XL so I'll be selling that and getting a large. The biggest concern is top storage with the hi-rise. Most are slanted and loading a kayak or bikes up top would be a pain.

That's true. Not ideal for that. Some have racks though that are flat I think..sungtop maybe..Way pricey. But think they are out there.

My Dad finally sold his topper. Never used it anymore. Liked the bed rack and tent too much.

Yeah, which is why a mid-rise is looking better. Probably can put a decent rack (prinsu or whatever they are called) on it. Snugtop sport hi-liner seems to be a good inbetween of a mid and high rise with the option for the simple crossbars for loading the top up. Aesthetically it looks pretty darn good compared to the others.
