I was watching some videos of Windrock Park on YT. Looks like alot of stuff there a Taco could handle. Then they have some pretty technical stuff too for more advanced rigs/guys. Might be worth checking out if you're ever down that way

Windrock, 72,000 acres and 300 miles of trails

    Trail Difficulty
Our trails range from gravel roads to extreme mountainous terrain.

    EASY
Easy trails include gravel roads and hard-packed clay trails with few if any challenges.

    MODERATE
Moderate trails may include mud, rocks and mountainous terrain.

    DIFFICULT
Difficult trails will include off-cambers, tougher hill climbs, rocks, mud and should only be attempted by experienced riders.

    2017 Appalachian Toyota Round-Up Event http://www.windrockpark.com/events/appalachian-toyota-roundup-2/

The round up has been around for about three yrs, sells out quickly, real quick!

I would not go if you do not have skid plates or a winch unless you stay on the easy ones which are just old mining roads.

First feeler.... If you may be interested in the 3rd annual Black Mountain meet, 3td weekend of October, let me know. There will soon be a thread just for this. Short term, just wanting to get some idea of how many may be going. (5 or 6 Midwest Overlanders so far) This will be 2 to 4 days camping and trail meet.

Windrock blows. Great trails but the people that run it are certainly rude as can be. Went there last summer on the Rzr for an event with a group of buddies, 2 whom are cops and were carrying, and we were harassed the entire time we were there for them having their service weapon on their side. Not to mention you can't take adult beverages there. Won't be giving my hard earned money to that place again.

By his employment standards, they are supposed to have them with them. The park also doesn't have a no carry policy and isn't posted. Also, TN state police have the same state regulations as Kentucky does. When we were approached by the individuals, their reasoning was, "police and firemen out of town tend to give them trouble with firing weapons on the park premises". So with that said, they felt the need to be in view of us every time we turned around. Not a fan of paying to be harassed when no trouble was even started, or close to being started from the get go. If we were rowdy and causing a seen, so be it.

Also got a call that I wouldn't let the trail head guy check my cooler on the trail head so they pulled me over. Needless to say I told the park cop that if he could find a cooler on my Rzr, he was more than welcome to go through it. He then replied that he didn't see one but asked to go through my Pelican case (Cooler) so I told him to go through whatever he'd like.

Not a fan of paying $ to basically being harassed is all. They simply picked our group out because of young men carrying issued guns on their side. Never been a fan of them since.

    Related, but unrelated...

I have my CCDW license from Kentucky. As I have gone through the proper channels to acquire this, I will NEVER open-carry unless I'm at the range or hunting and carrying a side arm because I don't trust 2-legged predators, big cats, coyotes, and bears.

It wasn't really "open carry". It was 90 degrees out and they were in sleeveless shirts and the gentlemen noticed them. They wasn't waving them around saying, "look at me I can carry a weapon".

It was 2014 when I was there, went with a group of 6, our guide was decent. We had a few beverages when we stopped through out the trails he seemed not to care, never had coolers checked. It is a nice place over all. Understood, when you get a shitty guide it pisses everyone off, had that happen once and have not been back at a different park.
