    Right?!?

Just looking at options. Loan meeting this morning was a bit . But I'm gonna do what I have to make it work. A few good options pre selling truck stage. Just wanna be prepared...

I will absolutely build another one though. Maybe SAS

Don't you have a rear bumper too? I would say mid to high $20's at a minimum.

Sad to think you might sell it, but if you got a good opportunity coming up take it.

Anyone around here good at coding? I have an arduino project that I've been wanting to wrap up for our trucks, but I need someone who's solid on arduino code.

Legoland is kinda lame, but they have a pretty bad ass Vader lego statue that's worth checking out if in the area, and they have an awesome gift shop (although overpriced). I'm double screwed when I go because I happen to be a bit of a star wars and lego nerd.

So is that like a Raspberry Pi? Is it running some sort of Linux Distro or a proprietary OS?

I'm sure it is but when you've got a bunch of new window lickers on your crew gotta hit the closest place possible and get back on the job asap before one of them does something stupid.

Fair enough, I guess La Casita isn't really a good meal to eat before you need to do anything anyways. I usually require 1-2 hours of sitting down and groaning followed by a quick 6 hr nap after I eat a meal there. #foodcoma

It's the Arduino language which is a modified C. I'm just such a newb with this stuff. I got the hardware prototyped and done, and basic software that does what I want it to do, but I can add GPS, Bluetooth and all kinds of stuff, but can't code all that in.

Hopefully @XPOTRPR can help me make the case out of aluminum.

no, an Arduino is an AVR cpu, which is considerably lower horsepower than the Arm found in a RPi, and doesn't have nearly enough memory or resources for Linux, it doesn't run any OS at all, just your program.

frankly, if that project is as minimalist as it looks, I'd suggest using a PIC cpu rather than an Arduino... PIC's run on a milliwatt, and are at least as powerful as an AVR, and aren't encumbered by all the 'hobbiest' level crud that surrounds a Arduino. a PIC is typically programmed in C. I have a friend in Monterey who's a real guru at all sorts of embedded projects, hardware AND software design, but he's pretty much retired and doesn't do much anymore.

Got'cha. I've messed around with a Raspberry Pi but it was just to make a little box that played old school video games.

Okay. I tried to get into programming but it made me feel like I was the dumbest person alive.

I think I'm the same way, although I've never really seriously tried learning any coding for real. I generally consider myself pretty competent with computers as do most people I know, but anytime I've tried anything related to programming I feel like a concussed gibbon.
