The wife and I tested Zello when I had to make a run to Waco today. It seems to work great. I added a channel called TxTaco's and if anyone would like to join it to test the app on there phone feel free. I added a password in order to keep it between like minded people. The password is Alamo. I'll leave myself on the channel for next few days if you want to reach out to someone to see if its working for you. Im Travis5049. I know i don't have time to add a CB to my Rig before the cruise down to Padre and several other people may have the same issue but Im pretty sure everyone has a cell phone. Found the correct lug nuts that I needed for the SGT.Rock trailer and drove it down the hwy at 70 unloaded. It pulls great, even the surge breaks we'rent a problem, I can't wait to see how she does in the sand.I just need a spare tire for it, which shouldn't be a big deal. Going to build the flag holders next week for the truck and the pressurized water tanks. I'm taking my generator so that we'll have lights at night, also looking to pick up some MAXX Tracks or a like version. Anyone with a winch planning on exploring past Access 3? Still working on getting a GPS drone. The 17th is my last day at work and then I'll have plenty of time just to work on the trailer and truck.

Hello. I am new to the forum and might want to go to this event. I just purchased my Tacoma Saturday and want to get some sand on those tires. I am from the Mcallen/Edinburg area. I hope to meet lots of new people :) Have a great day everyone!

You should definitely go! We have a blast and I go with my 2WD and just have the 4x4's pull me out when I get stuck :p I would recommend just going straight to Bass Pro shop and not hit the first stop. I hit the first stop last year and no one showed up. Went to Corpus and met up with a couple more trucks but everyone was there at Bass Pro and we almost missed the picture. Also....

Sounds like a plan. I will probably get lost in Bass Pro Shops... lol How does the 2wd hold up in the sand? Can you have lots of fun before you get in trouble lol or trouble comes quick?

Looks there are a few central Texas folks on the "maybe" list... you can add me there as well. The GF is down and I'm submitting a PTO request tomorrow. I think we would plan to meet in corpus so we would head out from Austin on Friday and camp near by that night.

@qxrtz4321 @Phoosa @Sleipnir what are your plans? Any chance of an Austin convoy?

Me and the wife are thinking of going down night before but need to find someone to watch the pooch. I'm thinking of making a sleeping platform for the bed but my wife will want a hotel. If we don't go the night before we'll go the day of and wake up early

Im sure my GF would much prefer a hotel or BnB that Friday night as well. If you head down Friday, let me know and maybe we can convoy down. I hate getting up super super early on the weekends so I dont think ill be able to do an early saturday start

There are a couple of spots that i found when i briefly looked the other day... couple of state parks Mustang Island SP and Corpus Christi SP....unsure if they are still available... should probably look. Put us close enough to have an easy drive saturday morning to the last meet up spot before hitting the sand. I plan on having my camp and kitchen bins, cooler(s), rtt, awning, propane, stove, lights, etc... basically all the things lol.

    Hotel works too! LOL
