It may seem that way, but for me, the pros still outweigh the cons even with all these "issues"

    All 4 shocks?

Bilstein claims 98% efficiency at 100,000 miles. They still only come with a 90 day warranty.

Have heard issues of the shock rusting though

just found out about shocks and power steering pump to day, i have been bitching to the dealer (2 dealers)about the trans. at 2000 miles.finely got 2nd dealer to add 1and 1/4 qts.trans fluid and it seemed good (this is my wifes truck i do not drive it much) i also could not take toyota claims or whatever its called lying to me and giving me the this is the first time we have heard of this shit. so the plan was to sell it once winter was over, now i will get right on it. and i do have the extended warranty

I know folks said not to tag Smitty, but I believe his shocks also went. The power steering is a new issue I think.

Me too.. OP is freaking out, why doesn't he just crawl under the truck and look for himself.. if take your car back to the same place enough times they'll start making stuff up just to see if you bite off on any of it. The power steering pump could just be sweating a little bit , same with the shocks. Take it to a reputable indy shop and pay somebody 15 minutes or a half hour to look and tell you what they think.

one of my shocks were leaking at 23k... transmission is a mystery to me as well even after two TSBs

They seem to have too many issues for me, am I going to be buying a product with Toyota quality or Hyundai quality?

I'm still leaning heavily towards getting a Tacoma in a few years, but if these issues keep popping up it'll sway me into getting a Ram.

They have a bad rap but I've grown up around them and like them.

Carcomplaints.com has less issues reported on the 2016 Ram than both the 2016 F150 and 2016 Tacoma.

Yeah I'm hoping these trucks prove themselves after the bugs get sorted out. I'll be lurking until people start posting about their high mileage 3rd gens.
