Good to see Toyota has its priorities straight with increasing the knob size and not addressing issues that have been around since 2005 like the kazoo windshield noise or the myriad of problems seen in the 2016's.

    Good on you Toyota! !

I bet a thousand seniors complained about small knobs, and only five TW members complained about the rest. Bang for buck, knobs upgrade made more sense! Fun fact I read a while ago: one of the most important factors that women consider when shopping for cars is the number of cup holders. Toyota will do the least possible amount of work to sell the most possible amount of vehicles.

Hard to tell from your terrible pics but they look the same to me.

Mine were definitely smaller. Originals were probably 2/3 of this size, if not less. I didn't mind them much, but this is a welcome change. Will measure when I'm in the truck next time.

That maintenance screen is on the 2016 4Runners as well.

How do you like that accessories knob thing on the vent? Sturdy? What do you put on it?

The shallow depth is the only issue I have with mine as I have bumped the screen several times in the process of turning them.

Build date on mine was October 2015, I purchased it in Dec 2015 and it has the main section too. Always has as far as I remember. Though I have updated the software a time or two when I actually pair something to it. I think I've used the knobs maybe a handful of times? I navigate my iPod though the touch screen and volume is almost always changed via the wheel. But they are frustratingly small, slick, and short. Especially coming from a 2nd gen Tundra with oversized everything. Haha.

Not sure if you're aware or not but we recently banned someone for a very similar post. Ball is in your court and it's up to you to determine how this ends.

I have two of these. They're pretty good, but they do limit the use of the vent quite a lot. I use one to mount my fridge's remote temp display, and another for my InReach SE.

I just measured my factory knobs. Roughly 7/8" dia.

I think these will be the same size. I wish I had measured the knobs I had originally.

But to only take an hour seems a bit odd. Given the head unit alone would probably take a dealer 30min. Hmm who knows
