Wow, we only got bb sized hail on this side. I'll take the shitty high winds here over big ass hail.

This is my first experience with hail damage. How do you determine if enough damage has been done to warrant making a claim to insurance? Based on the pictures mine is a bit worse than @aero3685 truck.

I would say go ahead and do it. Last year i had a few tiny spots and didn't file a claim but i didn't think twice about filling a claim this time since it's pretty bad. It'll also depend on what is going to be able to be fixed by paintless dent removal vs body shop/paint as far as the payout.

That center "lug" is the "positive center conductor" for the antenna and the "outer edge is the GND" for the antenna. Thus, that plastic separator helps "center" the lug and also makes sure that the center conductor and GND do NOT TOUCH!!!:fistbump:

I know you already drilled it by now, but just explaining what is what on that lug bolt as well as the plastic separator!!!:fistbump::cheers:

Finally, if you're going to make an antenna bracket for, say a HAM connector:

The SO-239 adapter is approx 5/8" diameter
    SO239_BarrelAdapter_diameter_measurement.jpg
As you can see, the PL-259 connector is approx 5/8" inner dia
    PL259_connector_diameter_measurement.jpg

What I did for my HAM antenna was use a COBRA bracket and drilled the hole from a 1/2" to 5/8" diameter so I could fit the SO-239 barrel adapter you see just above (i.e. the 1st pic).

Nice, i just got a large ham antenna and need to figure out a folding mount.. since she'll be way too tall when not in use.

Behind the passenger side is my tri-Band HAM antenna. It's a COMET SBB-224 and you can see it in the pic below: (NOTE: I have another HAM antenna as well, so that might not be it, LOL)
