Quick question for those that have snorkels. When mounting to the A-pillar, how many people here have had rust issues or water leakage into the A-pillar under the snorkel support? Does the interior of the A-pillar communicate with the interior of the cab?

    Thanks!

Trying to decide whether to hop on the snorkel GB at the last minute or not....

I used industrial velcro to secure mine on there. Can also use double sided 3m tape. No issues at all.

Good info. I was thinking when drilling the holes in the A-pillar, putting a little silicone or something under the bolts or rivets or whatever the hardware is to help seal things but I like the idea of the 3M tape or velcro.

There's a few of us that did it this way and it's holding up good so far.

I've used some of the extra strength 3M hook & loop in the small 1"x3" strips and the weight rating is supposed to be 15lbs-20lbs or something like that. Seemed to work well for what I needed it for but not sure how the adhesive will hold up to AZ heat.

    Too much to list
Anyone who used the double sided tape continue not to have issues all these years later?

I used the 3M adhesive for a few years and it worked just fine but I was slightly off-center for some of my mounting bolts so it left a small gap. This gap allows the snorkel to slightly vibrate while driving so the 3M stuff would never stay. I've been sitting on some gray RTV and all the hardware needed to properly install the A-pillar bracket, what I need to source still are some phenolic or plastic spacers, maybe like 1/8" or so as that's about the size of the gap I have between the body and the bracket. If you get yours snug to your A-pillar, the 3M stuff would be plenty.

I used rivnuts coated with silicone to secure the snorkel to the A-pillar. Also used foam tape on the mating side of the bracket. A bit overkill but havent had any leaks even in Florida downpours.
