I'm sure they knew the address. Probably afraid if they showed up, you'd find someway of making water flammable and burn down their fire truck too.

I may have been tempted to tear the wall apart to kill it. Or at least getting some kind of spider killer spray and soaking the area he went in to, along with the rest of the house.

We've got these monsters in Hawaii called cane spiders. In the sugar cane fields there are deep well water pump stations that have elevators which I have to inspect annually. Going down on the elevators I'm amazed by how big these damn spiders can get. They look as big as my hand. Makes for a quick inspection though.....

I was in payson az helping a friend of my dad's finish up his cabin, and we had just finished putting down this brand new white carpet in one of the bedrooms. I went to pick up some underlayment scraps in the next room over and a huge tarantula ran out from under it and into the room with the new carpet. This other guy who was helping out said I'll get em, and we figured he was gonna scoop him up or catch it or something. Instead he just goes over and stomps on it with his boot and left a splatter on the new carpet about the size of my fist.

That's funny  but there's a good chance i may have screamed like a girl and ran away if a tarantula came running out at me in any house.

i remember getting bit by spiders when i was a kid - we heated the house with a wood burning stove in the winter and always had a wood pile inside - lots of creepy crawlies in there. i would get huge welts the size of a CD whenever i would get bitten, hurt like hell too. that would explain why i keep 2 or 3 cans of super strength spider killer spray around now. my biggest complaint now is that i have black widows in my garage - the experts claim that its too cold here for them. i have the corpses to prove them wrong.

i remember one encounter from when i was about 7 or 8 my folks and i were out camping and had gone for a short drive in the old subaru wagon. we stopped for some reason and as i opened the door to get out this massive spider dropped down from the roof rack and was just dangling in the doorway. i screamed and was scrambling to get away - crawling backwards across the seat. my dad tells me to stop screaming and quit being such a baby. then he came around the side of the car and he started screaming too. the body of the damn thing was the size of a golf ball! thinking back now i wonder if it was just a smaller not-so-scary spider with an egg sac? i know some varieties carry the eggs around for awhile.
