Those that have a cap (can't think of anyone off the top of my head), should I get the bed reinforcements? Will my bed really warp from the extra weight, or I am just getting too caught up in the hype?

I have a cap with NO braces. Have had it on for over a year no issues.

 

I have a fiberglass tonneau cover on mine at the moment. This is soon to be coming off for an RTT, but I havnt needed bed reinforcements when it was just the cover. If you plan to load up the cap with something up top that exceeds 100 pounds I would consider it. If not, then you should be fine I would say.

My hair takes forever to grow... plus I can't stand it touching my ears. I tried growing it out after I got out of the military.

 

But if you put the brace on, you will see the issues. Ive never had a cap, placed the braces, and my bed was spreading

 

I just put the braces on and sucked the sides in hard.

 

I'm not 100% on that. The weight of the cap is on top of the bed, no pressure pushing the sides out.

I tried that.. I used to fight fire with fire, if you know what I mean. Getting older, that doesn't work so much anymore. haha
