Make sure the power hole is bueno:

Make sure it fits in the compartment:

See how the GPS looks in its new home:

    Hardwire GPS:

I am going to paint the wood black so it blends more with the look of the interior.
Also while I had the middle console torn out I ran my Ipod wire to my center console, here are a few pics of this:

I'm sure it's a wonderful idea but I can see the whole concept due to the massive pics.

Visibility is good, this gps speaks the street names and also the turns so that helps when the traffic is crazy.

Very great idea. Once the wood is painted it'll be perfect. I like it a lot. Very useful, out of the way, and not blocking vision.

Not bad, use some matte paint or wrinkle finish that will hide the small imperfections in the wood. Also cover the gaps on the ends with a small piece of trim or something for a more factory finish.

    Looks pretty good though...

Finished painting, it is not as shiny as in the pics, it looks alot better in person.

Nice idea but I would agree.................looking down @ the unit may seem to be a difficult read............maybe even cause you to be in an accident due to taking your eyes off the road for too long..................

good idea and execution but i think it would look much nicer covered in carpet to hide the gaps. Hell, i'll even send you a couple small pieces of carpet to cover it (i do car audio so i have plenty laying around). pm me if you need some
