New first time Truck and Toyota owner - Michigan

Hello everyone,

Figured I would join the forum as there is a lot of great information in here, as well as introduce myself.

My name is Cody and I just purchased a 2017 Tacoma TRD Sport in Magnetic Grey two weeks ago. This is my first truck, first new vehicle and first Toyota. The sportiness and aggressive look of the Tacoma is what sold me over the Silverado or Sierra, along with the Lifetime Warranty on the Tacoma through the Dealer.

So far I'm absolutely loving the Tacoma. After putting 520 miles on it I used it to tow our new camper, which was also my first time ever towing, and it did quite well. I was surprised by the high RPM at 65mph on the highway, it didn't like 5th gear and would immediately drop to 4th, but it's to be expected. I plan to have the hitch adjusted as the trailer is nose down, so hopefully this helps with towing.

So far I've installed Toyota All Weather floor mats along with the Toyota rubber bed rug. Laid down a fresh coat of wax this past weekend and intend to get new wheels/tires shortly (Rotiform SIX-OR wheels w/ Toyo A/T tires).

nice truck, welcome! I like that lifetime warranty option, they offered me a 100k for $2000 and I turned them down.

 

Thanks and yeah the Lifetime Powertrain Warranty is included free. I also purchased the 5 year extended warranty which covers everything else (wiring, alternator, a/c, etc.)
