Why is it that when parts are changed like adding a lift, or Bilstein 5100's, or replace a crappy stock sound system, etc. that guys think that is a "build"? That is an alteration, not a build. The base platform has not been radically changed in any way which is what a build represents. Doing a solid axle swap would be a "build". Changing the wheels and tires and front grille is an alteration.

Take a long look at the following link to see a guy do a real build which involves cutting the frame in two, replacing entire sections of frame, engine, suspension components including drag link / support / engineering design etc. This is what I consider a "build". Doing a lift or changing parts for cosmetics is not a build. It is incredible what some skilled fabricators can do on their own and when they "build" a truck, believe it they have really built something. Literally.

Probably due to the fact many lack funds or necessary tools to do a complete fab up. Let us enjoy it for what it's worth. I see what you're saying, but it's not that literal. If you are however offering free services to "build" peoples rigs, I think you'll have quite a few responses.

Well if thats the way you want to look at it then technically a SAC would still be an alteration. If you cut the frame in 2 then you are technically altering the frame. The only time you can call it a build is if you build the frame as well.
