It seems like dealers and Toyota need to have a sit down and all get on the same page.

OR Manual here, not part of the recall but just looked under my truck and I see the seepage like lots of others have. Guess I'll have them look at it when it goes in for the 15k service on Saturday. I'll update if they say anything new/different than what has already been posted.

They told me the same thing when I asked if I could bring it home and leave it in the garage. Been getting quite a bit of hail in my area and they said if it gets hailed on at the dealership they are not responsible for damages that I would need to call my insurance company.. Very frustrating!

I would tell them to let you take your truck home, or sign a notarized legal document saying since they are "taking" your truck, they assume all liability for any damages that occur.

I can't believe some peoples trucks are being held against their owners will. That's ridiculous. I find it hard to believe its even legal. Anyone called the cops? It may not help but I would have gone that far and probably farther before leaving the dealership without my truck.

They covered it, first day this thread started but it's not really newsworthy unless there's accidents or deaths.

I think I see a recall on the news at least once a week. NISSAN just had one a few days ago about brakes. Seems to me that would be a bit more significant that a leaky differential but I I can remember only seeing one blurb on it and that included a few injuries.

So any weather damage your truck incurs while in
their care is YOUR responsibility? I'd take my truck and go.

That's what I was told.. They still have vehicles there for the airbag recall that have been there as long as 9 months that recently got hailed on and said they all had to turn it in on their own insurance.. This whole thing is a joke.

I agree. They should have plenty of those gaskets or bolts by now, there has to be something else that they are not telling. They are not being straight forward with the customers and holding a truck in a dealer for more than a couple of days is just outrageous

If its seeping---aren't they required to hold your truck? I thought re-torque only applied if there was no visual signs of a leak

I think we have to put pressure somehow to Toyota and let them know that a lot of customers are not happy about this situation. If we just sit down and wait, they are going to take their sweet ass time to fix the issue. I'm taking my truck on Saturday to check the issue if they tell me that i have to leave the truck for a month I will raise hell and ask them to pay for the days the truck is going to spend there. I did not pay to get a camry. I paid to get a truck damn it

Per the conversation I just had with my service advisor you are correct sir. ANY truck weather under the recall or not will be held if there is any sign of weeping. Still no answer for a fix and the dealership is stacking up (11 trucks) waiting on a fix for this issue. :/

If its NOT on the recall (i.e any Off road or Pro currently---I don't believe they can hold the truck since there's no direction for them to do so) At that point it just becomes a warranty claim.
