All I know is that being on this website makes me want to spend more money than I have. But it sure makes the truck better. I think :notsure:

I can't/won't do badlands since I still don't have the lift on. Need every opportunity on weekends to do it.
    And it isn't exactly close

It's been pretty busy for the last couple years. Get's slow in the winter but ramps up once spring gets here.

    New "fresh blood" every year....

I'll be starting a thread very soon for the fall meet @ Black Mountain. There will be a few noobs show up aas a result of that trip that are regulars on another website. So far, just 6 or 7 of them. Hope they'll stick around once they start posting here. They are active off roaders. My hope is we'll get a more active group, with more events.

This forum has seen flurries of activity that comes and goes. Trick to any group is "member retention" . Gotta keep 'em coming back over and over.

well i think we should do more meet ups that are rotating location so that we are close to various parts of the state every so often

like a cars and coffee meet up once a month, that gives us 12 meet ups

do a barbaque type thing at each location, teach some stuff on various stuff that we are experts on, like recovery, repair, medical, so on and so forth

id really like to see offroading as an industry/sport make its way back into kentucky where it belongs

Don't need a lift there. Plenty of stock or very mildly modded rigs on the list to go

With Daniel Boone Back Country, Black Mountain, LBL, Hollerwood, etc, it's already pretty big in Ky. We have to get the Toyota contingent more involved.

I'm somewhat involved in a group that's based out of central and northern Indiana mostly. Midwest Overlanders get together just about every weekend for meet ups, camp outs, day cruises, and some good old fashioned off roading. A relatively new group, they draw a lot of new "members" and retain almost all the old guys. No dues, they do generate some funds via merchindise (sp?) sales.

Group participation seems to be the way to grow a group

If I have a "goal" it woulb be to establish a signature event for our group. I'm pushing to make the annual Black Mountain Fall Meet into such an event. First year there was 3 of us... Last year, 5. So far, this years list is over 15. It's headed in tje right direction.

The camp grounds there will hold sevetal dozen. Not everyone would have to take their truck on the trails. Just be there for the campout.

I've been active in the hobby for almost 45 years now. There will come a day when I can't be involved. It is my hope I can leave a mark on the hobby that outlast's me. Turning this event into a tradition will accomplish that goal.

An old friend is a videographer for KET. He's done episodes of Kentucky Life, etc... He's expressed some interest in covering am event within the state. I'm working on him to go with us in October. No word yet, but I'm pushing for an answer.

Nah, I take lots of vids and pics. You want me to clean up my truck for vids and pics. Not happening. Don't worry, your LT racetruck will look that much better parked next to mine :D
