What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

I'm happy to say that I will never have to deal with OEM style upper BJ's again! Those things always fight with me.

 

I did notice that my remote line was slightly showing wires (frayed?) and might have touched the snow....other than that, no clue

 

I'm talking dealer quote for labor that costs way too much.

I can do LBJs but the uppers look leaky as well.

so...what wire was the fuse on?? surely not the main power wire..

 

Some winches come with fused main power wires. My Superwinch had a breaker there, but I removed it because it had a peak amperage way lower than typical draw.

 

There's not enough room with the ABS controller there. Remove your ABS and move the CC slightly forward and there will be enough space to lay a twin flat or put a second battery there. Can't do both.

Wait?? What? The fuse was on one of the remote controller lines?

Access to the headliner on mine is from either side. I went in on the driver side. You do have to loosen the plastic surrounding the opera window to drop the headliner enough to reach the center of the roof area.

 

Doubt that... Possible that it shorted the in and out trigger wires together though which would energize the field winding but stall the motor causing massive amp spike.

 

If I ever have to remove my front bumper again, a daunting task, I will redo both power cables and extend the other cables to move/relocate the contractor to under the hood somewhere. Probably redo it all with 2 gauge and add a quick disconnect like this on the power lines.

My mv50 would over heat with more than 5 tires and not work for at least 30 minutes. Saw Jakes arb dual perform and I bought one a couple weeks ago lol.

 

I didn't do the quick connector, but I did make sure to put the contactor under the hood and made my own cables with 2 gauge. Worked great the other day pulling an S10 up steep sandy trench. Had to tie my truck off to a second gen though to keep from sliding forward haha.

Damn, I fill up my 33s then usually fill up a set of 35s. Never had it quit on me.

Technically it's the other version masterflow tsunami or something. Can't remember the number but the only difference is the stickers. Hmm maybe stickers do something more than stick. Maybe the hp gains from adding stickers are true! Haha

Can't compete with the twin though. But I could but 4 of these and still have oodles of cash left over

 

Mine was a superflow lol. If i was filling up and the compressor was in the sun it would overheat. Yeah its pricey but I was sold on it after i saw it. Super impressive

 

I had a phone that would do that, downside was the phone cost more than $50

 

it's a nice compressor. Works well.

 

Excited to use it soon! The truck is almost ready for summer. Ready to get out now that school is over!

 

Did you call toyota dealer to confirm your VIN has not the recall for LBJ"s? Mine got replaced for free 08/2016

I've already conversed with @Reh5108 on the topic, but he literally lives a mile higher in elev. than I do. I'm pretty sure our butt dyno scales won't sync up. Ha ha.
