When I first bought my Subaru I did a bunch of motor work and had a brand new turbo installed. and was only 50 miles into breaking it in.
Cant rev it passed 2500 rpm so i was going slow and not boosting it.

I took it to Discount tires dropped it off and walked across the street got food and came back. I was sitting inside in the waiting room with everyone else when they grabbed my car to pull it into the shop. the guy that got in my car started to rev it up a little. when pulling it up to the lifthe was reving the shit out of it and the guy that was guiding him onto the lift was telling him to rev it more, he bounced it off of the rev limiter twice.

Even the Manager looked out there to see whats going on. He asked if that was my car, I told him it was my car and they rev it up like that agian I am going to go out there and beat some people.

I got two of my tires for free and have never been back to Discount tire.

+1, I usually try to get rotations done early Saturday morning. I just get there about 1/2 before they open. I have had a few problems with them on using older or used tires on trailer. I had a bad valve on one and the dude said he would replace but not inflate because tire was 7 years old. I said if it is then it was 2 years old when you sold it to me. Their rules get a little stupid at times. I am sure they have had their butts sued often.

Your upset because they try to up sell you to rims and it's a long wait for tire rotation because you can't do it yourself because of your living conditions? :violent:

You had a bad experience somewhere? You're an asshole man! Get it together! Why didn't you just make the tires yourself?

I'm sure they have and this is part of the problem. I've tried Saturday mornings as well.

Ahh, yes? If you're cool with waiting around when you took the time to make an appointment, that's cool I guess. I'm not. I guess I should loosen up my schedule to suit your lack luster standards.

Did you miss the part where he made an appointment, yet still had to wait 1.5 hrs?

Dude was just venting and the peanut gallery comes out in full force.

    Isn't it a complementary service?

Not all discount tires are bad, I worked for them for 2 years. We only told customers about there spacers if it was the free floating one that's takes threads away from the hub cuz those can cause a accident if you left the store and got hurt it would be discounts fault so we tell the customer about it cuz we are forced to. The bolt on spacers we only torque them to spec and that's it. But the only thing I agree on is the appointment it should of been only 45mins for wait time. Also they are forced to give recommendations for new wheels if it has the shitty spacers.

If by complementary you mean hidden in the cost of the initial tire purchase, then yeah, I guess it's "complementary". Similiar to Toyotas "free" two year maintenance.

I had a poor experience with them as well. Ordered tires for wifes pilot two weeks early. Made an appointment and magically the tires werent there. Had to go home and come back the week after. They fucked up, shit happens.

I second the OP they try and upsell you on anything like with him and spacers how they're unsafe so rims are the end all be all....

America's Tire down here in SoCal tried saying how ALL my lug nuts were stripped... yeah I needed to replace A FEW--- but definitely not all of them :frusty:

did you call to see if the tires were actually there? They put the wrong tires on my 2009 Tacoma. I got a set of MTRs for the price of Duratracs. Their loss my gain or it would have been if I chose to keep them. I did for about 5 weeks but could not deal with the noise. Took them down to the hunting ranch for work weekend and beat them up pretty good. At least I tried to.

Sorry, fudged the company name. This comment isn't really relevant but I'll leave it up anyway.

I went to one TIRE DISCOUNTERS that was close to work but on a particular busy road and it was literally the worst place I've ever been. I went in for an alignment and they tried to tell me they could only do it to factory specs, AFTER they had it up on the rack. Then once they were done their "printer was broken" so I couldn't see what specs they had actually aligned it to. They also couldn't tell me what the computer said because apparently they don't keep even the last measurements taken. They handed me the keys (after driving it to the other end of the parking lot) and told me I was good to go. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and drove it home. It drove like shit (of course) so I brought it back in. Luckily they remembered me and told me! Then promptly told me to pound sand. After a lengthy... "conversation" I decided to go to another location rather than making more of a scene and potentially getting dragged out in handcuffs.

    Night and day difference.

Once I mentioned what had happened they said I wasn't the first, that other location does so much business they just DGAF. The new place aligned my truck probably 4 or 5 times for free trying to get the ride I wanted and experimenting with the different specs I would try trying to dial in a new lift, UCAs, and tires. That place I'll recommend all day long, but that first location wouldn't sadden me if their non-working printers exploded and burned the place down.

I am questioning your story...because last time I checked, Discount Tire does not do alignments. They are strictly tires and wheels... Unless you are talking about Discount Tire Centers which is a different company.

If you make an appointment, do you expect to have that time honored? If not, there's no reason for us to continue. If I say I'm going to do something, I do it! Maybe my standards are higher. I expect as a customer, said standard.
