Just wondering if there is a way to remove the seat back on the drivers side rear of a Double Cab. I dont want to remove the entire back seat, just need to get the 40% of the 60/40 out.

    Thoughts or suggestions?

To anyone else thinking about this, I found this today... From what I see, you should be able to remove either back without taking the whole seat off. Im going to give 'er a shot later.

For the record, this was EXTREMELY easy to do. Simply lift the bottom part of seat, fold back of seat down, remove two 14mm bolts holding back of seat in, and pull seat back out.

    ;)

Just curious... What are you going to do with the half with no seat in it?

I just removed the seat back on the drivers rear side to get at the back wall some for some sub work and sound deadening. I put the seat back back in afterwards. I just didnt want to have to tear the WHOLE 60/40 out when I only needed to get behind the 40 ;)

Is it required to remove the seat back to remove the compartments and expose the back wall? I removed the 3 bolts inside the 40/side but can't pull the compartment out.

I need to get at it for some deadening.

One side had to come out before the other because they overlap each other and clip together in the moddle. There are also other clips in addition to the bolts. Your gonna have to give a careful yank or two to get it out. If memory serves me you shouldn't have to remove the rear seat. Good luck!:)

Got it - thanks! Of course I broke a few of those white clips and it never goes back in the same way it came out.

    Oh well...it's deadened.

    Working on it!
I'm looking at doing this so I have a spot to keep a fridge and the 12v stuff, like lithium battery, inverter, dc-dc charger, solar mppt. if i put the air compressor and sound amplifier under the driver and 1st row passenger seats there won't be much room elsewhere but in the bed.

i think if i do it all correctly, the driver's seat could lay back almost flat for those special times when you just gotta pull over to catch some zzzzs, and ya don't much care where...
