Haha. I didn't start going to shows on my own till 1995..my mom took me to Ozzy and some other shows prior in 93-94..but I saw Winger at our county fair around 92-93 (I think). They fuckin sucked.

 

Man, I've been highly anticipating this release. It's even more than I was hoping for. Stoked for Incendiary, especially in a time where hardcore is going through some shifts. Greatly reminds me of Verse's Agression album.

 

They really have an old school vibe in a good way.

 

Come on, everyone loves winger. /s I always thought that the lead singer looked like some kind of sex offender.

I can listen to Opiate, Undertow, Lateralus and 10,000 days straight through, start to finish, and never skip a track.

They also absolutely destroy it live. Danny Carey is just ridiculous.

 

I'm gonna place this here. It's hardcore, old hardcore. If you remember this, then congratulations, you're an old fart like me. I first heard this band at a skate shop in the early 90s. Never heard anything like if before. I was obsessed with finding the album after that. Special ordered it from my local recored store and waited weeks to get it. When I listen to it now, it's nothing great, but when I was young I thought it was. Interesting how you change.

I used to have a compilation tape from Revelation Records that had a song by Inside Out on it. It was the best song on the tape. I'd constantly rewind it, to listen No Spiritual Surrender.

 

Apparently this band is what influenced Metallica to start making music. Check out the song "Am I Evil" and you'll see what I mean. I'm not a huge fan of either, well I do like old Metallica, but it's good to know useless facts, and how else are you going to impress chicks?

Diamond Head - Borrowed Time

 

Am I evil was one of the first songs I learned on geetar. The Metallica version though, not sure how different the two versions are but I do not like the sound of Diamond Head.

 

Fuck yea! Seeing them next month, it will be my second tool show and my wifes first, i just hope maynard doesnt phone it in like he has over the past few years.

Another old Hardcore band, Quicksand. Also, something that influenced me as a teenager and really opened me up to a lot of different types of music. This album, Manic Compression, came out in 1995.
