... that's what I wanna do. Did you use Energy Suspension LCA bushings? I'm real curious about them, let me know your thoughts!

I have the worst squeak from my front suspension and nobody to bounce on the truck while I listen :( . I've cleaned and lubed the pretty new uniballs, and greased the UCA bushings. Next try at fixing it is new LCA bushings... and if that's not the culprit, at least the poly bushings should feel a little nicer.

I am using whiteline, I really was against reusing the sleeves and washers from the oem stuff, thus why I chose whiteline. Hopefully this will take care of my lower end clunk and improve handling a bit

Cool. I hadn't heard of white line. Got a part # by chance? I found a thread discussing them for 1st gens and they sound much better than reusing that stuff.

ya its getting out of hand. These Tacomas are great for about 5 years it seems and have little to no maintenance, but then bullshit stuff that could have been avoided by good engineers doing their job or other planning things. Rear leafs, frame, LCAs, exhaust recall, blown shocks, electrical things stop working, lights are a pain in the ass, and other things I have not mentioned. My truck only has 140 000kms on it, so about 90k miles, thats a lot of crap to go wrong on a vehicle. But by FAR the worst problem of all is the fact that the parts are expensive as fuck. Its ridiculous. I have a silverado 3500 I had to get a special bolt for the frame and I got it today for $3.50. I go to Toyota for literally 99% close to the same bolt size and thread and the charge me $13. Fuck Toyota I think I am done with them. Thank God for Tacomaworld!

Look at it from Toyotas point.

They never intend for lifts to be installed or people to kiss a curb. If those things never happen, you never need to adjust the cams/bushings. Why would time and money be spent during manufacturing the truck?

Lots of us have problems with this part, but I bet thousands never have an issue.

If everyone buying a new Toyota truck had these bushings lubed before taking ownership, there would never be an issues.

I wish there was a way to "stickie" this issue. Lots of future headaches would be avoided.

Well its not my problem to lube something on a new truck, also no it has nothing to do with lifting the vehicle. From what I get at it should be properly lubed or not made of dissimilar metals if it is. No excuse IMO

Well, it's been a problem since 1985, when they went to independent front ends.

I've been rebuilding these trucks since then and I've had to cut off 5-6 control arm bolts in that time because of the above reason...and destroying the a-arms.

If Toyota doesn't think it's a big deal not to lube, I figure the money saved in production warranted it.

New trucks are never froze up. You have the knowledge. Make them lube it before you buy it. It takes less time than an oil change and if you mark the cams, the alignment is not lost. Use this info and make them earn your $ 40+k.

Not to trivialize this issue, but yes, I get pissed every time I run into this!

A thimble of grease would save us $100s of dollars!

My 2010 5-lug UCA's were hard seized in place by the differential corrosion issue. Basically it's an anode/cathode corrosion thing between bolt and spacer. Problem was discovered in March 2015, exactly 4 years, 64,000km and 1 oil spray worth of use. $1100.00 CDN in associated parts costs at the Toyota parts-counter.

Toyota said too bad, so sad. The shop that had my truck on the lift in pieces, just wanted it fixed and outta there.

I pulled my alignment cam bolts back in November. They came out fine but the usual pair were pretty gnarly looking. Coated them with anti-seize and reassembled. Living in a state that pretty much refuses to use rock salt is nice.

They seize because there is no lube in there not because of lifting , a dab of lubricant during assembly would solve this problem

I had this issue on my 4runner. I replaced the cam bolts with SPC kit. It comes with plastic sleeves instead of metal. They will never seize and cheaper than oem. They allow 1.5* of adjustment. I also did ES poly bushings. After a year they completely washed out and are super loud. Benefit is nice since they allow full lca arm travel without rubber bushings binding and tearing.
