i used to use my parking brake in the manner you describe before i had a rear locker, it helped (and really kept the shoes adjusted) but it wasn't the best, but then one line to feed both rear wheels on the old junk.

i'm more KISS, i understand what you want to do, just the gain doesn't justify it in my simplistic mind.

i haven't seen that, cool. i check my SnapOn torque wrench on the Snappy truck about once a year, its stayed pretty accurate bouncing around in my van in its case the last several years. its certification expired a few years ago, i have no reason to keep it certified.

FYI, if you have desires to own a nice SnapOn type torque device, check out www.bluetools.com They sell CDI which is who makes the SnapOn branded torque tools much cheaper than tool truck for same tool

Oh, I know that about you, and I can't disagree. On the other hand you could argue that a couple of ARB's, lines, compressor and buttons is not exactly KISS either.
Even when you make it look simple. @Sandman614

Edit: I have tried the parking brake trick and couldn't get enough pressure to get enough torque into the opposite wheel with out it getting bogged down by the brake as well. You would need two handles and two lines to do the same thing I'm talking about just at the rear.

if i had the $$$$ i'd have a pair of the Harrop/Eaton lockers, simple as it gets for selectable, cost wise about the same as ARB after you figure in compressor, switches, solenoids relays lines blah blah blah
I have a high pinion e-locker sitting on bench, again, to allow me to use said locker would cost $$$$, and that is just to convert my junk to solid axle..... i've been down this road before, i have little to show for it other than a lot of used abused parts and a bunch of memories. build, break, rebuild better, break bigger, rebuild betterer, break more, vicious cycle..... its like a drug

I can't complain, I'm procrastinating at work so I probably should've just gone and done some stuff rather than read that. In other news, I bought the new (to me) engine today, so hopefully it finds its way into the 4runner while I'm on a cruise next week. #lifeishard
